Even when someone wears a distaar we nit-pick...why are apne community so b*tchy to one another?

Where is the love?

sorry but its actually not being bitchy, its stating whats not right according to maryada. (its not them judging a person, its not them giving their opinion)

:) if they hurt your ego by stating a simple fact then.......then... you need to get over it!!

That makes no sense guru gav hukam some which must be for that time specifically . What purpose are these 5 shastr do they make you a better sikh ? What about the jingle bells i hav seen some whering what can the possible reason be for this ? In your sangat this might seem normal but in the 20th century you just make it harder for normal sikhs to practice . Y don't you thing? If i am so wrong and there is an very good reason then i will put all these on every sikhs head and then go to the airport and tell them i am a sikh of the guru and i have come to travell :-) . . . Travel in time maybe to a past centursy when there was a wars to fight

----------------------------------

5 shaster? what are you referring to? 5 kakkar? your post is utter bakwaas!!! maybe you need to learn more about sikhi before you post on here :)

by the way you are totally clueless its 21st century as far as i know

are you talking about the 21st century sangat that sits on chairs to eat langaar?

what you call 21stcentury sangat isnt really sangat.. sangat is where you learn about guru sahib where you develop spiritually.

guru gobind singh ji didnt just give hukam to the 17th century sikhs...singhs and singhnis that continue to give shaheedian prove this!! "sir jave ta jave mera sikhi sidak na jaave" dont know if you know but people actually have died to keep the rehit you are speaking against and your post isnt just against sikhi but also against those great sacrifices made by great sikhs and that rehitbaan sikh will continue to make ... hope you get better sangat.. so you learn what sikhi really is..

sikhi is mehngi and not for weaklings that cant even sit on the floor when having langar..

... its easy to call urself a sikh but if you are denying guruji.. if you think this hukam no longer applies then why bother calling yourself a sikh...

i am not amritthari i dont keep full rehit but i would never disrepect sikhi like you are... god knows what your 21st century sangat is like...because you sure need a lotta knowledge about sikhi :)

because in true sense.. only those that respect guru jis hukam are sikhs.. even 5 yr old sikhs know better than you.. sorry if my post is attacking/insulting you but you need to be told before you go on disrpecting guru ji..

this is what a true singh looks like :)

You're completely right. But the only mistake you made was to assume I meant the ones in the dastar. If Guru Sahib can give us a rehit to wear panj shastar which is bigger than the small ones worn in the dastar then what's the problem with wearing the smaller ones. That's the point I was making to 'Fashion Victim'.

Try and stay focussed on the topic.

i like the style at the end with the lar of the turban wrapped around her neck, signifying that may someboby come and strangle her. I would like to see her have to fight in a situation with that sort of turban.

    • I agree we're not born with sin like the Christians think. Also I agree we have effects of karma. But Gurbani does state that the body contains both sin and charity (goodness): ਕਾਇਆ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਪਾਪੁ ਪੁੰਨੁ ਦੁਇ ਭਾਈ ॥ Within the body are the two brothers sin and virtue. p126 Actually, we do need to be saved. Gurbani calls this "udhaar" (uplift). Without Satguru, souls are liable to spiritual death: ਜਿਨਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨ ਭੇਟਿਓ ਸੇ ਭਾਗਹੀਣ ਵਸਿ ਕਾਲ ॥ p40 Those who have not met Satguru Purakh are unfortunate and liable to death. So, yeah, we do need to be saved, and Guru ji does the saving. The reason Satguru is the one to save is because God has given Satguru the "key" (kunji): ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਹਥਿ ਕੁੰਜੀ ਹੋਰਤੁ ਦਰੁ ਖੁਲੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੭॥ In the True Guru's hand is the key. None else can open the door. By perfect good fortune the Guru is met. p124
    • That's unfortunate to hear. Could you give any more information? Who was this "baba"? He just disappeared with people's money? Obviously, you should donate your money to known institutions or poor people that you can verify the need of through friends and family in Punjab.
    • Sangat ji,  I know a family who went Sevewal to do seva sometimes end of 2019. They returned last year in great dismay and heart broken.  To repent for their mistakes they approached panj pyaare. The Panj gave them their punishment / order to how t make it up which, with Kirpa, they fulfilled.  They were listening to a fake Baba who, in the end, took all the "Donations " and fled sometime over a year ago. For nearly 4 years this family (who are great Gursikhs once u get to know them) wasted time and effort for this fake Baba. NOT ONLY this one fam. But many, many did worldwide and they took their fam to do seva, in village Sevewal, city Jaitho in Punjab. In the end many families lost money in thousands being behind this Baba. The family, on return, had to get in touch with all the participants and told them to stop.  I am stating this here to create awareness and we need to learn from whom we follow and believe. It's no easy but if we follow the 3 S (Sangat, Simran and Seva) we will be shown the light. As I am writing this the family in question have been doing the same since 2008 onwards and they fell for this Baba... it is unbelievable and shocking.  This am writing in a nutshell as am at work on my break so not lengthy but it deserves a great length.  Especially the family in question, who shed light on youngsters about Sikhi 20 plus years!!
    • Giani Kulwant Singh Jawaddi Kalan uses simple Punjabi.
    • Leaving aside Guru ji, the general question of taking afeem (opium) in limited quantities for war/medical wounds is simply unproblematic. When you go to the hospital, they give you morphine. What do you think morphine is? It's an opiate. Even codeine (cough syrup) is an opiate! Ever had a cough? Granted, it is against Gurmat to take opium or other drugs for the fun of it.
