Now I know the hard time that my brothers and sisters must have went through during 2001. I myself was shaven head at the time.

But when I think back to the Guru's times and post Guru Gobind Singh Ji, a few names are nothing.

funnily enough while I have been on the receiving end of racial slurs, I don't believe I have ever gotten 'bin laden'. The best I got was 'sinbad' which I actually found quite amusing. this was years ago though. nothing recently except for once sum europeans on an esculator giggling, i just eyed them back.

So far, nothing has directly been said. It's funny how ignorance can fuel hate, you can almost feel the tension in the atmosphere. What's even more funny is how the hate can shift 180 degrees once you tell a person who you are and what your history is. I think the border that we Americans face often is that we don't want to learn new things and want to categorize things based on how something looks.

Life's too short to lie to yourself and think you know everything.

I did a history project and presentation on Sikh history two weeks ago and boy can i tell you the change in atmosphere after I was done. It was as if the class had known me for a long time after, i guess they were able to respect Sikhi on such a level. A couple people said good job and asked questions after, it was a good feeling.

After that presentation, only thing i could think to myself was. WAHEGURU lol
