This special display of Sikh manuscripts and drawings highlights the legacy of the first Guru of the Sikh faith, Guru Nanak (1469-1539) and the heritage of the Khalsa or the Sikh Brotherhood.

Through these beautiful items, discover more about Guru Nanak’s teachings, how the Sikhs were roused to militancy by the Mughal regime in India in the 17th century and how this uprising led to the formation of the Khalsa – the community of Sikh warriors – in 1699.

This display marks the launch of Britain’s national Anglo-Sikh Heritage Trail. For more information see http://www.asht.info

Tuesday 24 August, 18.15: The Heritage of the Khalsa, a free talk by Jasleen Kandhari. No booking - please note that no seating is available.

In the John Ritblat Gallery: Treasures until 30 September.
