You can be a Sikh without wearing a dastar, how is this hard to comprehend? Sikh's cannot wear Hats, end of story. If a monah says they don't wanna wear a hat because it says so in the rehitnama, are you going to tell them you're not a real sikh so you have to wear one? NO

maybe not in the indian case highlighted but i can see ramifications in the uk. one of the main reasons police in the uk wear hats is because they become identifable so in a shoot out a officer wont shoot another officer. Now the uk has allowed sngh/singhnia to wear a dastaar as part of the religion but what you are asking for is even more change so that people who dont want to wear a cap based on religous reasons then go on to say they dont want to wear a dastaar either (how confusing for a government that doesnt actually know that much about sikhs)....easier answer get a job without a uniform

Defenitely not the main reason they wear hats, not even sure if that reason would be true. Also the discussion is revolving around the homeland of sikhs ( not sure id call it that atm, but IG sure would like us to believe that) so it is absolutely absurd to have that law in Punjab, think we can agree there? Most cops in other developed nations do not wear hats. We can keep argueing about UK, but whats the point, we can agree on the point above right?
