We Are Sikhs - We Are Not Behind 9-11

We need to absolute remove ourselves from Muslims.

There has been attempts from the so called Asian network this week (nihal and some other guy) where they were trying to encourage Sikhs to not have the attitude “we are not Muslim and point the finger at them”

Well im afraid we are not behind 9-11 so why should we pay for it.

If this was the other way around Muslims wouldn’t stand for it they would directly say it’s us.

The only time they see us as brothers is when they are under scrutiny.

The same attitude which was taken when British media was labelling Pakistani pedos as Asian needs to be taken.

100% paaji, but unfortunatly we got pappu sikhs, who keep thinkin that we shudnt offend other communities, whilst other communities NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER stick up for sikhs, but cuss us instead. Look @ the paedo paki cases here in uk, NOT ONCE has an imam from the local mosque come out n say, the mirpuris in the uk have a problem. Listenin 2 the asian network, wenever they have a discussion on groomin on the streets, how many muslims txt in 2 say they have this problem? ALL they ever say is "oh u ppl r islamaphobic" etc crap. Sikhs have a huge problem wit alcohol, but u will get sikhs who will openely say that its a problem, etc. coz we live in the real world. ur 100% right

Last week’s two discussions on the BBC are still on their website, they were a joke.

We had fools like Nihal and some other presenter making discions for us. “Sikhs shouldn’t point the finger at the people behind Muslims”

Then have the enemy within Sunny Hundal from the Guardian, and “Sikhs against Edl” who have been sticking up for the Muslims even on this subject.

Hundial write an article last week on the USA shootings.

He wrote” When a group of Sikhs from around the UK organized a vigil outside the US embassy in London to reiterate that "Sikhs were not Muslims", many distanced themselves from the implication that hate crimes against Muslims were OK.”

You guys have no idea how the media works and how to get your message across. Political correctness in these cases are okay.

When you're talking about grooming and other things, then go all out and say the cold hearted truth.

paaji, i believe ur a yank, but u need 2 come 2 england n c, how the goreh r sooooooo scared of speakin the truth, coz som1 might get offended. Shere Panjab warned the media/police/community leaders bowt paki mirpuris groomin yung kurriyan, yet NO police force took it seriously. Now all the goreh kno these mirpuris fave pasttime, n the police have admited they've been hesitant 2 tackle this, coz they dont wana look racist, which is disgraceful. countless girls cudda been saved, had the bloody police not been so politicaly correct n done their job. And then wen these idiots try 2 tackle the problem, instead of sayin muslim rioters, mirpuri drug dealers or paki groomers, they will say ASIAN rioters/druggies/groomers. WHY shud all us brownies have 2 take the slack, these kamineh have a problem, let em deal with it.

I know the situation bro and I know about the grooming gangs. I'm saying there's a time and place for political correctness. The key is to understand how to talk while representing everyone in the media.

The Sikh Coalition got a bunch of coverage and rightfully so and were politically correct.

When talking about pakistani grooming gangs, you should be dead honest and start turning these things into statistics by working with the Scotland Yard or whatever other police groups you have. Be proactive and once you start gathering the statistics you can finally shut up politically correct gore by showing it isn't a mere coincidence. If you legitimize yourselves with the people, the media will HAVE to listen to you.

The problem with the EDL is that they use only hate and very little brains, despite having real concerns so they are never taken seriously.

Become educated and scholarly so you can speak with any type of person anytime and anywhere.

While Sikhs should tell the world they are not not Muslims or any other religion but an independent religion but at the same time that does not mean we should start to point the finger of blame at any other religion. I have noticed some Sikhs in trying to show their difference from Muslims start to overly bash and bad mouth Islam and Muslims as if that will show how truly unique the Sikhs are. That is not the Gurmat thing to do. Most Muslims living in the west are good people, I wouldn't want people do hate them.

We need to follow the examples of our Gurus in every point. We need to inform non Sikhs out there who we are. Reading some of the comments by Sikhs at the comments section of news papers one can help notice how ignorant even fellow Sikhs are of Sikhi. For example, one Sikh commenter wrote Sikhism does not beleive in converting other people to Sikhism because Sikhism believes all religions are equal and lead to the same place. With such ignorance is it any wonder why Sikhs are no longer spreading the word of the Gurus to non Sikhs? They say one of the best ways to inform others of your religion is to preach it and spread it. In that case we have failed miserably.

Sikhi is a unique religion. It was founded by Sri Guru Nanak Dev Jee who was the greatest of all. His spiritual path(Sikhi) is also the greatest path amongst paths. We Sikhs have done some great Karma in previous lifetimes to be blessed with the priceless jewel of Sikhi in this lifetime.

The thing is if we can't gather ourselves and convey ourselves in a decent manner we get those wannabe liberals starting to promote religions. We should be able to differentiate and tell the facts as they are without unnecessary emotions. That's what we lack in.

When we use emotions to tackle a subject we get heated and pappus start saying the exact opposite of what you're trying to achieve.

    • We have lamp (or Jyot) the pure unscented candle for a reason. Traditionally, Patis used candle light (jyot), so they could read SGGS in darkness. Light, elec didn't exist. Dhoop is used to attract the "Good spirits" but also keep freshness where Maharaj will be.  Interestingly and coincidentally I heard Sakhi a few dsys ago. During Dasa Pitha's time these souls were roaming the Earth and even Sangat noticed. Maharaj asked them "y u here?" They replied during recitation of SGGS and making Degh they didn't bother lighting candle. THAT WAS THEE ONLY REASON NO GATI WAS GIVEN TO THEM!!!  AUTHENTICITY NOT CHECKED I heard once on YT like 2 days ago.  If u apply dhoop in one room of your house twice a week u will notice a difference esp in the smell and freshness of that room.
    • Sangat ji, With the hot weather as per Guru's Hukm, how can we look after our kes?  First of all the beard! Working in Construction, factory and any other heated environment I UNDERSTAND! At my workplace it's over 32 degree celcius and sometimes we have to lift 20kg ALL! DAY! My tips, regularly shampoo the beard during ishnan. APPLY OIL! The technique of applying oil is by rubbing it thoroughly in the roots. Pay attention to the noise esp on the chin. You will hear this "crosh crosh" noise. Keep rubbing oil until u can't hear it no more! This means the oil has blended in properly.  Second tip on beard, keep an extra kanga in your pocket. Every two, three hours give your beard a proper comb down to get rid of any sweat or stickiness. SECOND BENEFIT! Do this all 12 months every single day your beard will look like it's been professionally groomed. TRY IT! People will ask you "What gel u use? How can yer beard be naturally like that?" You can say all I use is coconut oil or whaeva oil but just comb the beard every 2-3 hours for a minute.  As for the kes, morning time get rid of all the gronjra (or knots - forgotten English word), in the morning. However, during evening comb down make sure you get rid of small remaining gronjra and comb yer hair nice and straight. You will feel soooo so relaxed. Yes our hair will go unnoticed due to Dastar, but our hair demands time and self grooming! So proper combing down, spending a good 15-20 mins most evenings is an absolute MUST!  Most evenings I let my hair down and cover hair with my parna for 2-3 hours so it gets to relax from the tying up.  FINAL TIP! We are Sikhs so we keep fighting and remember this! The tradition of Dastar and uncut hair started in India, where the weather is twice as hot. Everytime we bring this thought in the mind, Guru ji will bless us and make us feel cooled down by a notch.  Fateh.
    • Been so much nindya and attacking Shastarvidiya since the 2000s, however if we look at gatka now it's still mostly as poor and poorly taught as it was back then, still morris dancing moves and still behzti moves in BBC shows about sikhi and vaisakhi. If people were going to attack shastarvidiya, wouldn't have made sense to improve gatka instead and make it more effective? Additionally, the Nihang Singh presence has improved greatly now, and the cracks within the the SGPC and affiliated jatha jathebandis are showing more greatly as panth becomes more knowledgable with dasam bani and itihas day-by-day, so much gyaan which was lost within panjabi sikhs during colonial times. In the 2000s, the groups were able to talk down this bani and  gyaan by associating it with  RSS and hindus, brahminwaad etc. Not working so well now is it? However with gyaan it would be also good for us to try and preserve our martial arts and keertan vidiya as well! More and more crazy keertan videos are coming out from jatha members that are being made fun of and making sangat annoyed and upset, on tiktok and instagram reels.

Being from Punjab, almost every Sardaarji i know (amritdhari or not) sleeps/showers with their hair uncovered. I don't think Guru Sahib asked us to wear Dastar to sleep and I don't think it is in SRM.   The idea of "keski being worn to sleep" is cos in Bollywood films (Bachna Ae Haseeno) Sikh characters usually tie a gol parna when sleeping since the actor's usually Hindu. So they gotta cover his head somehow or he'd have cut hair. Same reason Diljit wore a pagg to bed in the El Sueno vid. Only time they didn't do that was in Gadar with Sunny Deol which just looked odd tbh   What in the world? What sikh or even a decent human would base their knowledge of their culture or religion on a movie industry, that too Bollywood?  Believe me, no sikh ever said, I must cover my head becasue an actor did so in a movie. I've been doing it all wrong, I must start covering mh head because the sikh in that movie did.  Just because every panjabi and sardaar you know, does something, also doesn't make it right..  Follow the guru. And if you have a medical condition, then exemptions can be made.  Just admit it, because of my medical condition, I am not able to follow this rehit. Why are you getting everyone else to drop to your level?
    • Wasn't Guru Arjan Dev's martyrdom on amd always commemorated on 6th June? How come it was 30th May?  Just like 6th June 84, where the likes of Terrorists like Indira Gandhi chose to attack Darbar Sahib where many many innocent Sikhs would suffer, as they went to commemorate Martyrdom of Maharaj.
