terrible acne, dermatologist claims facial hair related

I don't suggest going to a dermatologist in this specific case. If there was another condition (almost any other), I would recommend going to a professional. In this case if it's normal pimple problem (or even terrible) and there isn't an actual medical condition, they will prescribe very strong medicine that will be dangerous for your liver and/or excessively dry up your skin.

Again, I suggest margo soap at least three times a day.

In the morning use it while showering. During the day wash the face with warm water and then use margo soap and wash off the soap with warm water. After that wash it again with cold water. (warm water opens pores and allows it to clean - cold water closes the pores). Do this again before sleeping.

It won't be an instant transformation overnight, but it is rather quick and with discipline it should work.

@singh559 please do not advise people not to go to the specialists. If you have experienced it yourself being given medicine that has done that fair enough or if you are a specialists yourself then give your views. To Op, if they give you strong medicine you do not have to have it if you feel it will affect you. A Dermatologist deals with skin problems, does not mean you have to have another health condition to see one. He has a skin problem that is why his gp sent him. He can take back the info he is gettin on here after trying it, and they will record his results. Its important to keep a record of everything where ones health is concerned for future reference.

@simran345 I speak from personal experience, but I should say you should go to a specialist and then make your decision. If he prescribes something powerful you should try to use neem as it will work most likely and it isn't pseudo-science.

Many people buy it here in America and other countries just for acne and it has great reviews.

Although i agree with the medicine bit you say, i got worse from taking lots of medicines, but they were given by my gps before they eventually referred me to a dermatologist who did tests and gave me the right medicine and cream. Guess everybody has different experiences. Its a case of balancing the two together. Would neem work for psoriasis? They cant seem to sort that out . and i say no to medicine and want something natural. Where emollients and creams are concerned they s.eem to be good for that

^^ what khalsa s1ngh says. especially diet and exercise.

Ssometimes people are just generically predisposed to acne and it can become worse under certain environmental conditions, so if you can't control thorugh medication, you can manage the environment (including body health).

Hey bro, I had cystic acne when I was a teen. I also took accutane. My acne is completely gone now. I'm in my 20's.

I'm pretty sure your acne came back because of your diet.

DO NOT EAT: Chocolate, Tomato Sauce (any kind of cooked tomatoes that may be found in sabzi), coffee, Coke/Pepsi, spicy foods, and most importantly fried foods (pakoras, samosas, etc).

Drink a lot of water to clean your system. 8 cups, no more otherwise you may become low on electrolytes.

You can still consume tea. Green tea is good because of anti-oxidants. Also cranberry juice is rich in antioxidants as well.

Wash your face with Neutrogena acne wash once in the morning and once at night (before bed). Before bed is also when you should apply any topical medications to your face.

Is your cystic acne associated with rosacia? If so, then your skin is sensitive to sunlight, and you should be applying sunscreen to your face.

Place a clean T-shirt or towel on your pillow every night, as you don't want to re-introduce your skin to the same oils and dirt.

When I had cystic acne, I had cut hair. So, I don't think your derm knows what he is talking about. If anything, shaving would aggravate the skin and make your acne worse. Find a different doctor.

I use Turmeric (haldi) as a face cream and as a drink mixture, you have to use it to believe it as when I was a kid I used to laugh at the vicco adverts during the hindi film breaks, but this has worked for me and if you do a quick Google search there is now medical research on this spice.

Firstly as others have said please drink plenty of water.

In the evening I wash my face with warm water then gently rub some Vicco Turmeric cream into my face (which will quickly be absorbed) your face will feel a little tight but smooth - then leave on over night until washed off in the morning.

Then I also drink "Golden Milk" at bed time: heat a cup of milk with one teaspoon of honey (less if you dont like it but does mask the taste of natural earthy turmeric taste) and one teaspoon of turmeric. This drink is an aquired taste but you will get used to it after a couple of days (better than drinking cough syrup!).

If you don't like the above two suggestions you can also buy turmeric capsules which are a very good way to consume the spice if you don't like the taste.

Or, lastly you can put an extra spoon into the curry mix when you make your dhal, gobi, channa etc....

You will need to take or use turmeric for at least 2-4 weeks to start seeing a change.....since I started with the face cream now my wife, mother-in-law, and my wifes 3 white friends have all started using it!

I hope one of the suggestions works for you from all the SS input but dont try all the advice at one who knows what might happen ")

Singh559's advice is the best on here.

I know that the margo soap is available here in North America although it is imported from India.

It should be available in UK from some indian shop.

Neem oil is very good, it has antibacterial, antifungal, bacteristatic, bactericidal properties much better that tea tree oil which is also good.

If you can't get the margo soap there, then I would ask for neem soap which will be available from an indian herbalist also.

There are two types of margo soap, one has moisturiser and one is without- I would go for the one without and then use a simple moisturiser if needed.

You should also get a a small tea tree oil stick, this is concentrated 100% tea tree oil, that you just dab on once a day to any existing spots, and it naturally gets rid of them and stops more frowing next to it

I know Simran 345 is arguing that you should see the dermatoligist and Singh559 advises against- They are BOTH correct and have a point.

However, I know that you've had the strongest ultimate that the dermataologist can prescribe and that is the the lethal roaccutane capsules.

Remember, the dermatoligist has guidelines and a criteria of what they can give. They start with things at the bottom and work there way up the ladder. From experience in the field, I know that he will just suggest you do another course of the lethal capsules.

This is how the health professionals operate in UK.

As well as using neem soap and tea tree to dab, i suggest LOTS of water to flush out all the toxins from your body.

Avoid as much processed food as possible, this means all canned food, meats, macdonalds crap, fizzy drinks, canned drinks.

Try and get as much fresh as possible like fresh juices (make your own!), fresh fruit, veg etc...

You will notice within a few wekks just with diet alone.
