Is it disrespect to the Indian Army to build a memorial to thousands of innocent men women children murdered by the murderous Indian Army!

The host of the show and the other General of the Army (besides Brar) kept on repeating that Generals were simply obeying the orders of government. If army was simply obeying the orders of the government, it begs questions to be answered by them ,was it the order of the government to initiate the attack on that particular day when they knew that there would be thousands of pilgrims assembled to commemorate the martyrdom of the fifth Guru of the Sikhs? --- Or was it the decision of General Brar and the other Generals to attack on that day? If they were simply obeying the orders, let us hear whose order was it? Or was it the decision of the army Generals to attack on that particular day? In the case it was the Army's decision, the Generals are also equally responsible for murdering more than 5000 innocent men women children and the old pilgrims gathered there. These generals should not be allowed to get away unchallenged by arguing that it was the order from their “higher ups”. They need to come clean on whether it was their decision to attack on that particular day or they were simply obeying the order of the "elected Government" to attack on that day.

Look at that debate. Those Indians act as if the Indian army is beyond criticism. Notice the reaction of those guys when that Sikh bibi compared the 84 attack by the Indian army to the attack of Darbar Sahib by Ahmad Shah Abdali centuries earlier. They couldn't beleive that she could have said such a thing or that she has the "audacity" to criticism the attack by the Indian army which for them is beyond criticism. One thing I have noticed about many Hindus is that they cannot digest the fact of why Sikhs do not support the attack on the Darbar Sahib in 84. It's almost like they think it was a good and righteous act by the Indian army and expect the Sikhs to be supportive of this attack. Just look at the BJP. They will disagree with the congress and the Nehru family in all thing big or small, but even they are united and supportive of the Congress and Indira Ganthi when it comes to the 84 attack. In fact the BJP will try to take all the credit of the attack by claiming it was because of the pressure they put on Indira Ganthi that this attack even occurred. This type of behavior by the Hindus is unbelievable to say the least!

I got to say, I lost my temper pretty bad after I saw that video. I had a lot of respect for Karan Thapar (the host) as he is a very senior and mature journalist and I felt he is unbiased. He even made Modi cringe when he asked him about the 2002 Gujarat carnage, but I hate to say that Karan, even you've played into the hands of the government when it came to the Sikhs.

One thing I have noticed about many Hindus is that they cannot digest the fact of why Sikhs do not support the attack on the Darbar Sahib in 84. It's almost like they think it was a good and righteous act by the Indian army and expect the Sikhs to be supportive of this attack.

Believe me brother, what you say is true and is actually worse. I've had heated arguments with my own cousins (who are Punjabi Hindus) over this issue, and I mean first cousins (my own blood) over this issue, and like almost all other Hindus they are stuck with the sarkaar-blessed mindset that attacking Sri Harmandir Sahib was unfortunate but very much needed as it was the only way out.

The fact is media funded by GOI spread lot of lies about operation blue star ..its always the case- media herds the people (sheeps) whichever way they want...even lot of mone sikhs have lot of misconception regarding operation blue star..i usually ask them if GOI thinks what they did was righteous..how come they banned western media/UN to do any coverage in punjab during those times? what they were so afraid of? it was complete black out.

We need to educate masses regarding 1984 not just through sikh eyes but independent sources like cynthia mahmood and among others. Recently, swami ram dev showed support for operation blue star memorial and called sant jarnail singh bhindranwale an shaheed. I believe ample opportunity was missed by sikhs themselves to high light this endorsement and support in media through their news channel. He has a great following in India. It would have changed mindset and clear misconceptions. If this support by swami ji was highlighted and shown by in full force by sikhs abroad and saropa was given, basically if we would capitalize on this perfect opportunity just may be may be it would have changed the wind direction in the indian media..!!!!!

Everything and anything no matter how small could be turn big by media..we need to learn this art and act smart. I don't blame genuine ignorance regarding 1984 but i do blame our leaders failure to capitalize on things. We need to have dedicated p/r team whose main job is changing wind direction in media both in India and abroad..!!

NeoSingh bhraava, Swami Ramdev doesn't have the kind of Hindu support he had earlier, especially after he tried to evade being arrested and wore a Bibi's clothes and jumped off a balcony to escape the cops, this didn't happen too long ago. The dude is a politician in a saint's robes as he always includes political speeches in his Yoga sessions and has several times made seemingly "patriotic" statements. But you do have a good point about using him as an asset, however don't be surprised if he turns around and takes a totally 180 degree reverse turn with regards to his opinion/statements. I would actually be more comfortable having someone like Sri Ravi Shankar as compared to Swami Ramdev if I had to spread awareness among the Hindu masses.

You are right veer...Ravi Shankar is better option than swami along with deepak chopra in western hemisphere is also very good option. In fact, all of them are viable crucial options for sikh cause as they all appeal to different crowds. Despite of swami potential U turn which may or may not happen against sikhs. Sikhs need to live in a present than future - worry what may happen. I think we need to take advantage of current things...currently speaking- had we capitalize on swami ji support and endorsement in media..we may had made some difference in media circles.
