The dreaded - Do you do path question.

I'm not sure how much of an awkward question this is for you, but I hate this question. Whenever I see relatives or close family friends who I haven't seen in quite some time (years), most of them ask in kind of a cheeky/random manner in the middle of a very normal discussion "achaaa fir tu paath vi karda hunda" *big smile on their face* and I'm like, is this a trick question?

I feel like if I say yes, i will sound like I'm giving off the false impression that I do a lot of path and if I say no I feel like that would be lying. I usually end up saying hanjee thorda jeha karlaida lol.

What are your responses when someone asks you such a question? I ask because a lot of punjabi people tend to judge a person based on how you carry yourself, i've been more and more aware of my surroundings and micro-expressions so I was wondering what sangat thought about this subject?

I say i do it here and there. When i give them this answer they seem to back off but sometimes they push me to tell what bania i do.

I see, yeah usually they keep quiet after I say my reply as well lol.

I feel like some of them ask in an almost mocking manner though, am i the only one who feels this way?

I bore the heck out of them and put a pakkaa barrier on any further question by saying "jado hukam hunda udo appe ho janda"

Haha im going to steal this.

If they are not amritdhari then they might be mocking you. I had a lot of non Amritdhari ask me this question with a hint of sarcasm and hatred. They used to put down gyanis and also wanted to put me down as well.

They do mock. It' the way most of the punjabis are.

They want to know what paath you do, how often you do it.

I mean they know very well that you probably do paath, which is why they ask.

Otherwise, they would say or tell you ''thu paath kariya kar'''

I mean what if you say 'NO', then what are they going to say- They are just gonna tell you that you should.

If you know they are being cheeky and mocking, then you could just say ''sometimes or when I can''

if they are just curious, then you should quickly answer ''hanji'' and immediately followed by ''thusi vi karde,??''

then ask ''how often or when''

-- This is sure to make them think before asking next time !!!

Tell yourself that you are going to wake up at amritvela before going to sleep.

Ask waheguru for guidance and help to get up for him.

Then you should find that you automatically wakeat that hour and don't feel tired.

I'm not amritdhari either, but getting up at amritvela is a priority.
