Gurmukhi was started using first, Devnagari came under use couple of century later.

According to my understanding through exploring.....

I concluded that Gurmukhi is derived from Brahmi scripting.....

This scripting is a source begin many well known languages of India..... Like Tamil, GujaratI etc
