* LATEST UPDATE FROM SOPW*

We have been in touch with the families of Shamsher Singh and Lakhwinder Singh, today. They have all arrived at Burail Jail this morning, awaiting the parole release of both these Singh's.

It was expected that Shamsher Singh would be released today, but the authorities have said that in fact, both men have been prepared and are ready to return home today. At this moment, the final paperwork is on it's way and as soon as it arrives Shamsher Singh and Lakhwinder Singh will be free to walk out of prison on parole.

We will inform you when we receive confirmation that they have left Burail Jail.

Welcome news that two more Singh's are being released on parole. But we should not lose sight of the actual aim of Bhai Sahibs morcha, until all of these Singh's are given permanent releases from jail there has been very little gain. I can't help thinking the government are just playing a game here granting parole, sooner or later they will toss these Singh's back in jail. Hence nothing less than full release should be accepted by the panth.

A lot has been gained , most Sikhs were ignoring the Veers being held in Jails and human rights violations against Sikhs. Now most people have been made aware by a small number of Sikhs in the movement, despite all the hurdles that have been put in their way. It would help if the rest of the Sant Samaj came out and gave full honest support to the Morcha, that way we could get more Singhs released. Cisco Singh can you check with the Buddha Dal on what they are doing to help?

budha dal ? I have no contacts or affiliations with budha dal or any other nihang dal's, jathebabdis etc. From the news I have been following though sadly Ive seen no mention of budha dal, tarna dal or the other main stream nihang dals supporting this morcha.

Can anybody with contacts within the nihang dals contact them and verify their stance on this morcha ?

EDIT : I found a link on sikh24 website with a letter from the jathedar of Buddha dal who is currently imprisoned which is in support of Bhai Gurbaksh Singh and his morcha. The link however is broken and gives a 404 error. Can anyone verify this news or provide a copy of the letter ? This news was from 20th December.
