Does Karma Move To Your Children?

Recommended Posts

No I do not agree at all. Every person born into human form, takes janam due to their Karam of previous lives. To say I will take the paap of my father or mother is not valid, as we are judged on only our actions in life not any others. We can only wash our sins, not anybody else's so why would the paap of your parents Mann mat become yours? If your father murdered some one out of cold blood and threw his chance of mukhti away, how does that paap become the child's?

Everyone is accountable only to their paap as you can only claim mukhti for yourself, not anyone else!

There are mainly two school of thought.

First believes that everything (good or bad) is God's will.

They are Brahmgianis

Breham Giaanee Kai Mithr Sathra Samaan ||

To the God-conscious being, friend and foe are the same.

Second believes Good is done by God & Bad by Satan.

They are crusaders who fight against abuse or evil (SantSipahis).

Now majority are selfish, neither Brahmgianis nor SantSipahis.

If you really think they are sinners then why do you accept their food, clothes & lodging ?

Jae Oue Dhisehi Narak Jaandhae Thaan Ounh Kaa Dhaan N Lainaa ||

If you see them going to hell, then do not accept charitable gifts from them.

Raag Malar Guru Nanak Dev Page:1290 Line: 6

Dhaenadhaa Narak Surag Laidhae Dhaekhahu Eaehu Dhhin(g)aanaa ||

The giver goes to hell, while the receiver goes to heaven - look at this injustice.

Aap N Boojhai Lok Bujhaaeae Paanddae Kharaa Siaanaa ||

You do not understand your own self, but you preach to other people. O Pandit, you are very wise indeed.

So if a child lives of his parents immoral earnings, without the knowledge of it being immoral, then will they still get paap?

No it will not. until bibek budhi kicks in, children do not distinguish between what is moral and immoral. Mohkam Singhs quote has nothing to do with children being nurtured by their (evil) parents.

and that is all there is to it.

No it's not!

there are certain karma you have to bhog and others you can decrease, others you can destroy.

Yeh, it's not just a straightforward task, where everyone tries to justify a reason of who's responsible for what.

KARMA is from your lekha, which in turns molds and shapes your destiny.

However, this destiny is ONLY applicable if you maintain at the SAME current state of consciousness.

If you develop and evolve your soul/consciousness towards the higher states, then you, yourself change your own destiny !

For eg.. Kauda raksh, if he carried on and refused to realise God or refused to let his soul evolve higher, then his actions and pas karmic imprints would have led him to the appropriate lower destination of destiny. HOWEVER, he made the effort to listen, learn and realise, that made him ask for forgiveness

Thus, he was freed from all his destined bounds and shackles, and became ONE with supreme God conscious.

In short, your own destiny will hold strong according to your karmic actions/imprints/influences at any given state of TIME !

But , you can move out of this destined graph line, if you LEARN to evolve.

This is the REAL Learning of what SIKH actually means !!

Guys if it's all about Karma then why are you giving advice to others ?

What is the need for Guru ie Gurbani & holy men.

Thing is, if you are knowingly associating with Durjan, Saakat or bad people then you too will have to pay.

Either you get out of the boat which is sinking or sink with it.

Simple as that !

Dear brother,

Please refer to guru nanak dev ji's patti:

Dadda: Do not blame anyone else; blame instead your own actions.

Whatever I did, for that I have suffered; I do not blame anyone else. ||21||

It is self explanatory.
