Mahima Of Wahiguru, His Nam & His Gurmukhs ....

Recommended Posts

Dhan Dhan Satguru Ram Das Maharaj, tells us in His pure paviter Bani on how to devote ourselves to Wahiguru Akal Purukh, and not only that, but also which we must surely do, in order to please Him.

Because devotion everbody does in their own way, but here Guru Jee is telling us, that, in order to achieve spiritual purity and to ultimately merge in, is only possible by pleasing Him, anything done apart from that is "manmat", which be the cause of our being condemmed in the "chaurasee ka chakar".

No matter how so ever religiously inclined we may feel about ourselves, but the thing is, if devotion is ever to be done, why not to do it according to Gurmat?

So following are the words of Chauthvee Patshahee, where he tries to remove our bharams about true devotion, and encourages us to do that highest devotion, which will in the end fulfill our purpose of coming into the world, which is to reunite our souls with Him with love, so that He and we may become one, such is the greatness of Gurmat alone:

ਜਪ ਤਪ ਤੀਰਥ ਸੰਜਮ ਕਰੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਾਇਆ

Jap Thap Theerathh Sanjam Karae Maerae Prabh Bhaaeiaa

Chanting and meditation, penance and self-discipline, and bathing at sacred shrines of pilgrimage - the merits of these come by pleasing my God.

* Chanting, bathing at so called sacred shrines, self discipline or hardships on oneself among other outer practices, are widely considered as means of devotion in almost all religions, but here Guru Jee is telling us, that if does not do at all these things, but one pleases Him, then all the fruits of these futile practices are showered upon us by Him.

Then naturally, one may ask, how can one please Him? To this question of ours, Guru Jee answers it in the following line.

Hiradhaa Sudhh Har Saevadhae Sohehi Gun Gaaeiaa

So serve the Lord with a pure heart; singing His Glorious Praises, you shall be embellished and exalted.

* Here, He is telling us to be simple and pure in hearts, means in mind, in order not to injure in anyway to any creature, as He is present in all. Devotion can only be performed when we are pure in hearts. It is not that once in a week we go the churches, temples, gurdwaras, and then in our daily lives we become beasts...in this way we are only cheating ourselves.

Progress in ruhaniyat is only possible, by being pure and humble, because only then, the seed of our devotion is watered with His Grace, which will give us the fruits of His Amrit, His Naam, His Shabad, and not only that, but will allow us to gradually become with Him, once and forever.

So when He says to sing His Glorious praises, it does not mean sing His kirtan, which is undoubtedly very good, but here Guru Jee refers to meditate on Him, with His Simran. That is why the Bani says: Prabh ka Simran, Har gun Banee. His Simran, is in reality to sing His praises. We must bear in mind, we must pay full attention to the words of our Guru Sahibans, because it is only by following them implicitly, can we ever become spiritually healthy and wealthy.

Maerae Har Jeeo Eaevai Bhaavadhaa Guramukh Tharaaeiaa

My Dear Lord is pleased by this; he carries the Gurmukh across.

* Thus by doing the right devotion only, we please Him, not otherwise. Wahiguru does not want our big big words, nor does He want us to severe our bodies with hardships, nor fasting.....nothing of these sort of things.

He as our Father, wants us to merge in Him, and become one with Him. And this, according to the teachings of Gurmat, is only possible by dyeing in His Name.

Sat Sree Akal.

Raag Sarang Guru Amar Das

Jinee Naam Visaariaa Bahu Karam Kamaavehi Hor

Those who forget the Naam and do other things,

Naanak Jam Pur Badhhae Maareeahi Jio Sannhee Oupar Chor

O Nanak, will be bound and gagged and beaten in the City of Death, like the thief caught red-handed.

In these lines above, Dhan Dhan satguru Amar Das Maharaj is pointing us out the base of sikhee and any true religion.

He says, that iko Wahiguru is Truth, and iko His Nam is Truth also. Wahiguru is Nirankar, but we can hold on with Simran to His Name and reach Him.

So, He is telling us, that as means of devotion, if we do many other things, but do not do the kamaee of His Nam, then we have done nothing, and as consequence, at our departure from this world, the yam doots will beat blue and black, and catch hold of us, as we were thieves.

Cause we did not follow Gurmat, rather we did manmat, and followed the corrupted ways brought within sikhee by the spiritually blinded, and thrown on us as if they were equally valid methods of realizing Him.

If ever we have any doubts, or even if we feel proud with our behaviour and so called religious practices, it would be advisable, if we checked throughly with the Bani of our Guru Sahibans.

We should read it by ourselves and explore it, and discover the Truths by ourselves. whatever we read, we should use it as a checker, if that what we hear, see and learn from our elders, preachers, samaj, community, since we came into this world tellies with what our Guru Sahibans want to tell us through the Bani.

Even when we go the bazaar to buy a shirt, don´t we touch the material, to see if the quality is good....Then, why do we accept things which we are told without analyzing them. You see, the Bani of our Guru Sahibans, is much much more, than anything .

it is a pity, we are being chained into brahmanvadee practices alike, within our very sikhee. So naturally, the Truths of the Bani are delegated to lower levels of consciousness, thus we do not derive the benefits from the Amrit Bani, and that is why, Guru Jee knowing our weaknesses, even several hundred yearss before our coming into the world, warn us, apart from Nam Bhakti, do not do anything else, otherwise you shall have to repent heavily for it, and by that time, it will be late for us, cause we shall have wasted away, the golden chance of human birth to realize and merge in Him.

Sat Sree Akal.

    • If relationship with Guru is strong, then kanga is done twice a day, and turban should never be taken off or put on like a hat, there is a lot wrong with that as it is against rehit! maryada is to take off every layer of turban/pagh/dumalla individually, and tie fresh turban each time!
    • the whole 'your husband/wife is chosen for you'/sanjog thing is real, it's just that a lot of people end up marrying the wrong person. they did not end up with the person that was meant for them. my friend, you should marry someone who you feel a connection with and love. there are millions of sikh girls, i'm sure you can find someone who aligns with your sensibilities and who you can truthfully say that you love. sikhi does not say anything against love marriages. you can also be in a loveless arranged marriage which is a safe option b/c both families are more inclined to keep the union intact. i was one of those people who was like meh, i guess i'll just get arranged to some sikh. well i finally started dating for the first time this year and i'm getting married to someone that i love and cannot even imagine leaving. i think it's better to have lost & lost than never loved at all. unfortunately, a lot of people confuse love w/ looks & lust. a lot of men go for the fittest girl they can find and think they won the jackpot or something. in reality, your partner should be like an extremely loved best friend. there's a reason why it's a fact that the most stable and long-lasting relationships started as friendships.  i also think a lot of women are petty and divorce over small reasons, but there's other terrible things like high cheating rates as well. that's why the divorce rate in the west is high. be careful out there.
    • andrew tate praises sikhi too & likes sikhs. his brother also donated to sikh families iirc. they just like any "alpha" religion and tbh islam is the most "alpha" in their eyes. islam is very good at promoting that image. but imo a real alpha man doesn't command respect by beating up his wive(s) or forcing them to wear a burqa. a real man will have his woman listen to him w/o raising a hand or his voice, and command respect by being respectful. he leads by example and integrity. that's true masculinity. you get the idea. + yes, it's definitely true that islam is growing rapidly and making massive inroads. strength in numbers + belief will do that. but rlly it's just because of the birth rate. a lot of them are muslim b/c it's their "identity" just like how a lot of young sikhs will say they're "culturally sikh" or whatever. there just aren't billions of sikhs who lambast their identity everywhere and have strict and linear rules like in islam. besides, the reality is that islam and its followers are some of the most morally bankrupt. you can see all the weird trans rules in iran, bacche baazi in afghanistan, visiting brothels, watching p*rn, p*dophilia what goes on behind the scenes in countries like uae & qatar, etc, and come to your conclusions. you can google all the stats yourself and see which countries do the most of these ^.
    • stop associating with hinduism, that's the absolutely worst thing you can do as a sikh. not sure if you noticed but the entire world looks down upon and spits at india & hindus, literally no one respects them and considers them weak and cowardly. literally 1+ billion of them but not perceived as a strong religion commandeering respect.
    • you wrote a whole lot but told us nothing. what exactly did you do wrong to make you feel this way?
