what you think sikhs in india who don't kiss arse are going to get a government post! hahahaha... please sikhs in high places in india are there because they have turned their back to their quam and have embraced their masters...welcome to indian politics...

perfect example: kps gill, all indian press and media call him a hero, why? because he slaughtered thousands of sikhs.

example 2: badal: turned his back to the sikh issues and embraced hindutva, he is a BJP favorite

example 3: capt amrinder: showered petals on indira's "shaheedi" day as well, punjab river waters, sure the act was passed has any water stopped flowing, don't think so, whatever happened to that act, will be buried like every other act which is pro-punjab..

example 4: barnala, had sikhs killed in fake encounters, was made the cm of uttar anchal

example 5: gen brar, a hero becuase he destroyed akal takhat sahib

example 6: khushwant singh: indians love this "Sikh" writer basically because he puts a hindu twist into everything sikh related, makes his masters very happy...

the examples are endless...if your sikh and want to go places in india, please do not mention 1984, akal takhat sahib, sikh maryada, chandigarh, human rights, and especially JUSTICE. YOU FOLLOW THESE RULES YOU ARE AN INDIAN SARDAR JI......

I was celebrating the death of Indira Gundi over some warm milk with sugar, and computer games. LOL.gif Is this wrong though? To celebrate one's death after he/she committed acts of genocide?

If what you say is true about the PM not doing jack for the community, you gotta realize he's a politician in INDIA. Just because he wears a turban and has a beard, don't expect him to be the next martyr to the Sikhs. This guy is probably corrupt, for all I care.

On another note, I was watching several 1984 movies and read a bunch of articles, and still can't come to terms with the actions of Kuldip Singh Brar, the Lt. General who led the attack on the Golden Temple. He was a Sikh himself, maybe not a devoted Sikh, but someone who understood the importance of the Golden Temple nonetheless. How could he even think about firing a bullet at our holy shrine? I asked these questions to myself. In an interview with the History Channel he stated "I was given a job to do, and I performed it to the best of my ability." That pa-gal, but he's a man of military integrity. So you can say the PM of India is a man of political integrity.

Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa!

Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!

Singh Ji,

Why, Why,Why, do you have to celebrate any ones death espesally Former PM Indra Ghandi.

We should learn from history and move on.Is this what our 10 masters taught us?

This is the first time in history that a turbaned and a beraded man has held such a high post in India

why should we as sikhs not be happy.

Personally I think its a great thing that a Sikh is PM of India.(When will sikhs learn to UNITE) you know this is known as the KHALSA.........!!!!!!! WAKE UP

I never liked Brar he has written a book on operation Blue star and states that the Indian Goverment

never put one buillit in the Golden temple.I remember visiting in 1989 and the Golden temple was riddled with Indian army bullits.

As an officer I have no problem he was following orders. But why lie, they can not hide the truth.Let history not repeat, let us not celebrate death by eating sweets and so on.it is soooooo wrong,Learn from how the Gurus were treated and how they used verbally fought with the enemy and won.Only when necassary should we fight.Singhs I ask ask you all to cool down and think with your head, hosh not josh. You can only win with knowledge.

Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa!

Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! ^_^

Woah, hang on there. Calm down buddy! lol

Personally, I am GLAD she died because she couldn't carry on her personal crusade against the Sikhs any further. Even though riots broke out afterwards atleast there was no Indira Gundi enacting other policies of aggression.

There's a lot of things that Brar stated that contradict what actually happened. He's a blatant liar.

I PUT INDIRA GUNDI ON THE SAME LEVEL AS HITLER/SADDAM/PINOCHET and any other evil leader who denied their citizens fundamental human rights, most importantly the right to live. I DON'T HATE HER, NOR DO I LIKE HER, I AM JUST GLAD SHE IS NOT IN THIS WORLD TO CARRY OUT ACTS OF GENOCIDE. SO BY EATING SWEETS, YOU'RE DARN RIGHT I'M GOING TO CELEBRATE AND PARTY TILL THE NIGHT IS OVER.

The celebration of her death comes second to the thousands of people who died, who should ALWAYS be remembered.

    • Definitely the Guru Sahibs would be a heavier Scriptures to handle. Dasam Granth is more towards Bir Rass, Guru Gobind Singh showed his Greatness (of course, they would never say this) by separating his own Baania.  And the BIGGEST test of all?? Do we try and read Dasam Granth, Understand n show respect like we do to SGGS? Or... Do we QUESTION it? Guru Gobind Singh Ji is testing us.
    • My wife will be going for an MRI scan next week but her Kara won’t physically come off.  Is there any way the mri scan can be done with the Kara still on?  The alternative is we will have to try to saw it off before the scan.
    • was researching this and came back to this thread. Also found an older thread:
    • Net pay after taxes. If you don't agree, think about this: If you were a trader and started off in China with silk that cost 100 rupees and came to India, and you had to pay total 800 rupees taxes at every small kingdom along the way, and then sold your goods for 1000 rupees, you'd have 100 rupees left, right? If your daswandh is on the gross, that's 100 rupees, meaning you have nothing left. Obviously, you owe only 10% of 100, not 10% of 1000. No, it's 10% before bills and other expenses. These expenses are not your expenses to earn money. They are consumption. If you are a business owner, you take out all expenses, including rent, shop electricity, cost of goods sold, advertising, and government taxes. Whatever is left is your profit and you owe 10% of that.  If you are an employee, you are also entitled to deduct the cost of earning money. That would be government taxes. Everything else is consumption.
    • No, bro, it's simply not true that no one talks about Simran. Where did you hear that? Swingdon? The entire Sikh world talks about doing Simran, whether it's Maskeen ji, Giani Pinderpal Singh, Giani Kulwant Singh Jawaddi, or Sants. So what are you talking about? Agreed. Agreed. Well, if every bani were exactly the same, then why would Guru ji even write anything after writing Japji Sahib? We should all enjoy all the banis. No, Gurbani tells you to do Simran, but it's not just "the manual". Gurbani itself also has cleansing powers. I'm not saying not to do Simran. Do it. But Gurbani is not merely "the manual". Reading and singing Gurbani is spiritually helpful: ਪ੍ਰਭ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਬਦੁ ਸੁਭਾਖਿਆ ॥  ਗਾਵਹੁ ਸੁਣਹੁ ਪੜਹੁ ਨਿਤ ਭਾਈ ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੈ ਤੂ ਰਾਖਿਆ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ The Lord's Bani and the words are the best utterances. Ever sing hear and recite them, O brother and the Perfect Guru shall save thee. Pause. p611 Here Guru ji shows the importance of both Bani and Naam: ਆਇਓ ਸੁਨਨ ਪੜਨ ਕਉ ਬਾਣੀ ॥ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਿਸਾਰਿ ਲਗਹਿ ਅਨ ਲਾਲਚਿ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਜਨਮੁ ਪਰਾਣੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ The mortal has come to hear and utter Bani. Forgetting the Name thou attached thyself to other desires. Vain is thy life, O mortal. Pause. p1219 Are there any house manuals that say to read and sing the house manual?
