SAD-BJP alliance takes a hit as Akalis boycott RSS’s Guru Gobind Singh celebration

Since the SAD-BJP combine’s defeat in the Punjab assembly elections earlier this year, there is a feeling in sections of the Sangh Parivar that the Sikh party could be on the decline. And in what seems to be an attempt to create a new leadership in the community and fill the perceived vacuum, the BJP’s ideological parent, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), wants its affiliate Rashtriya Sikh Sangat to play a frontal role.

Would just be better if they all drop dead. Don't believe them for a second when they say "we acknowledge Sikhs are not Hindus." At least the Akalis didn't make yet another stupid choice and go along with it.

In order to gain ground RSS can fund Sikh organisations which are into community service but not supported by Akali's or Congress.

They can bring retired Sikh defence officers to manage Rashtriya Sikh Sangat.

Akali's need new faces, maybe Badal's daughter & son-in-law (Praneet Kaur & Adesh Pratap Singh Kairon) can change party's fate.

This might help in balancing power !

Most likely a political game from both ends. The Akalis want to renew their positions in the good books of the Sikhs now that they are out of power. Its their archetypal maneuver, join the foe when on the seat; oppose him when off- something which they learnt from the likes Tara Singh and Fateh Singh. BJP and RSS are probably going to use this as an opportunity to slowly, but surely, sideline the Akalis and promote their "own Sikhs" to garner political potency among the Sikhs much as the Congress did when it put up Baldev Singh, Kairon, Zail Singh, Darbara Singh and co.
