quick question

lately i been thinking about sponsoring a child in africa or so.

world vision was my first chioce, but then i found out it was a christian organization, so now i m not sure wheather my money will be supporting they're

churchs or the christian cause.

so i was wondering if anyone knew of any other major charities, that can be trusted.

It's good that you want to sponser a child and there's nothing wrong with an organization being Christian... They are doing seva in what way the find correct..

but one thing to think about is.. what is being done for the Sikh children who need financial support? You can find a lot of young Singhs/Kaurs in countries like Pakistan and Bangladesh who have no support from any organization and even from other Sikhs from western countries. These kids have cannot afford to go to school because they can't pay for private school and public schools are sometimes strictly religion based.. and since most of them aren't getting any education it's hard for them to get jobs...

there's nothing wrong with helping other religions but it's noted many a times that some organizations are only willing to help those ppl who show interest in a particular religion. If you want to help a child in Afrika, PLEASE go ahead but along with that also think about ur younger brothers and sisters.

but world vision tends to spread christian influence,

so thats why i am looking for a better way.

in the end if i don't find a better way i will do it through world vision.

(doesn't the UN have any kind of program like this)
