maybe we can rope in hollywood for doing it to us . They're very good in making international level of quality work

The cultural narrative in the West (and the world in general) is currently in a place where our history and our point of view as it ACTUALLY is (and not the Marxist-lite bastardisation that's being pushed as the norm by Western Sikhs) doesn't fit with the overall message that's being used to mold society toward a particular philosophy. It actually contradicts it in a major way. Our history is only promoted when its modified or diluted to fit an external agenda that's not even our own.

I think the biggest roadblock is that sikhi is too pristine in its message and doesn't fear either theologically or historically to tackle the state as and when required and no state finds rebellion pleasant . I think that's the crux of the issue isn't it

Okay, the Sikhs we'd get to tell the story would try to placate Hindus and Muslims in order not to offend them. It would focus on showing the Gurus as exclusively social reformers rather than divine beings. It goes back to weak Sikhs not having the courage to stand up for themselves and their history and ways. If  apne made a hypothetical film on Sikh history it would be cringe and one-dimensional with the usual Indian melodrama instead of actual themes and substance.

In some ways nothing is more deserving of film. In other ways how could it ever live up to the Truth?
