Due to his immense bhagti, his simple words hv immense power.

Just talking to him for few minutes, I feel closer to God and my sikhi gets stronger.

There's some vibration thing some people seem to get from bhagti. I don't know how it works but it's really powerful. Just being around it has an affect on people who aren't closed to these things. 

As I'm writing this I'm also realising that it's similar to what the people who become shardaloos of dera babay sometimes say?????

Let me put it this way veer. Just in the last couple of years, just how many sources have we looked at like Sainapati's Sri Gursobha, Bhangu's Panth Prakash, or even old rahit namas. What about all the sources of the anglo-Sikh wars we've looked at. Look at how much we've learnt that isn't commonly known by apnay. Just the other week finding an old firman/hukamnama on a UK auctioneer's website alone uncovered some hitherto unknown but important part of our ithihaas! The execution of top level Harmandir Sahib (Takhat Patna Sahib) sevadaars no less. 

When do you ever hear about the stuff we, who are just ahhhm everyday bundhay, have discovered? What is that saying about the overall quality of 'scholars' in our panth? Are they really 'scholarly' in that they try and discover/uncover hidden truths/history, or are they essentially members of a conservative fraternity that operates along accepted and defined lines with no deviation?

To me it looks like that we've got this REALLY conservative streak in our community that absolutely revolts at anything that remotely contradicts their own personal preconceptions.  And the poor parcharaks seem to have their hands tied behind their backs, because I feel they get browbeaten into being quiet and just singing the acceptable song, lest they lose their position. You know what apnay are like, they'll start fighting over stuff like this! 

When you start looking at our ithihaas without blinkers, (to me) it looks like many of our ancestors were very different from the image created by conservative parcharaks.

Question is not about meat. Question is that scholars shud be honest students of history. U can't just burn or ignore historical books or documents that u personally don't agree with.

I don't see how mentioning meat is important. If someone does katha, then they would choose to focus on important points.

If someone declares on the stage that he is doing katha of bhangu's panth parkash and then cleverly skips the meat mentioning text in it, I feel it's literary crime.
