In Uttar Pradesh, there is a town called puranpur. About 35 km from puranpur, on the road to khutar, is a gurdwara Sahib of the nihangs.

Behind the gurdwara Sahib is a jungle.

Many robbers used to rob people in this jungle. Around 2006, local Punjabi farmers requested nihangs for help. Nihangs came to this place and started to live in a tamboo(tent).

Due to the presence of the nihangs, robberies stopped but local Muslim villagers started to dislike nihangs and started to attack them. Nihangs are always armed with traditional swords as well as guns and revolvers. Nihangs mounted on their horses and attacked the Muslims and the Muslims ran away.

Local Muslim villagers fear the nihangs to this day. Nihangs started with a tent but today have established a beautiful Gurdwara Sahib, have beautiful horses and also have about 70 acres of agricultural land.

Is there any other organization other than the nihangs which would have agreed to live in a tent in a jungle, full of mosquitoes and wild animals, dangerous robbers and thousands of local Muslim villagers always ready to attack?

Ahhh. A breath of fresh air.
