Define "guru Di Mat/gurmat"?

Please define, "Guru Di Mat/Gurmat"?

What exactly is Guru Di Mat discussed in gurbani both from spiritual and socio-religious perspective??

Diversity is ok but division is not i think. Anyway that's a different topic all together.

Ok let me re-think how should i phrase it.

I think we need to seek spiritual context of Gurmat from Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji, varan of bhai gurdas ji and socio-relegious context of Gurmat from Sri Dasam Granth Sahib Ji.

We should put more emphasis to find Gurmat from Gurbani than rehit nama's.

My understanding of Rehit Nama's- They are written in specific time/circumstances to handle specific time/circumstances. I don't think they can provide you solid Gurmat Sidhant of Sikhism

Gurmat is the path laid out by the Guru. Therefore, what the Guru is telling you to do directly is Gurmat. Therefore, listening to the Panj Pyare and following Guru Sahib's guidance in the Panj Roop is Gurmat. Mind you, the Panj Pyare do point you towards Gurbani as well.

I was just listening to Sant jagjit singh ji harkhowaley murid of Sant Jawala Singh Ji Harkhowaley. Gurmat /Sikh Defination came along...Gurmat/Sikh starts from aad cannot be bound to yugs or 525 years. Like to share with the sangat.

quite a interesting spin on what is gurmat? Gurmat is already defined in Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji..i don't think anyone else can define Gurmat in terms of rehit maryada.

Gurmat Sidhant created by our Guru's were very uchaie - suchaie thoughts (extremely high elevated school of thought) and cannot be bound to rules like- kachera's got off- go take pesh, or kirpan has to be certain length, certain rituals need to be performed, certain meditation postures, certain way of doing patt or interpertating gurbani, certain way of doing kirtan etc.

Gurmat Sidhant created by our sikh guru's were highest most layer in sikhi then comes in layers like puratan maryada, rehat maryada - outer rehats, learning vidya etc.
