Four "vulnerable" Priests At A Sikh Temple In Derby Who Were Paid Only £2 An Hour Have Won An Industrial Tribunal Ruling, With The Help Of A Union

The committee did everything wrong.

They did not respect the law of the land in regards to minimum wage. Brahmins would be so proud that a so called egalitarian religion paid slave wages to its own kind.

They did not respect the value of the Shri Guru Granth Sahib being orally spoken by the Granthis.

They behaved like dictators in dismissing legitimate grievances.

Bring back the Panj Pyare System, no more building funds.

Simple Gurdwaras to respect the Shri Guru Granth Sahib with hall, decent kitchen areas, Langar hall, clean toilets, classrooms to teach Gurmukhi and run social classes. Facilities to keep the Granthis comfortable.

According to jagraj singh, from 'basics of sikhi', theres only 1 gurdwara in all of england, that doesnt have crappy committees, but instead a panj pyara system, thats in newcastle! Oh n Guess wat?......theyve never had any controversies, scandal n beadbi or in-fightin. This all stems from the british takin over panjab, n placin this democracy/committee crap.

It's allways easier to blame the outsider and their negative influence.

Are you saying corruption is a purely British thing?

Look geezer, in sikh religion, we dont believe in democracy, only gurus law. B4 british arrived in late 1800s n took over our institutions, all gurdwaras were run by panj pyaras (5 baptised sikhs), who have only the religions best interest at heart. By puttin into the sikh minds that democracy is the way, u now have corrupt ppl in charge, who use payed muscle to intimidate other parties,n not to mention non-religious sikhs/spies r in charge to push their own agenda. This is how u get physical fightin happenin in gurdwaras over the dumbest lil non-issues, coz committee members have no love for r gurus, n dont even kno sikhi-wise wats right n wrong.

Panj pyara system isnt corruptable, coz they have the religions love 1st n foremost, not their own pockets, bmw's n license plates. Oh n btw, 5 baptised sikhs (panj pyareh) r the equivalent to our gurus, as sed by 10th guru, guru gobind singh. I couldnt careless who has monopoly on corruption, but it wasnt there in our gurdwaras, pre-british colonialism, so they r to blame, end of.

Just as Panj Pyare who conduct Amrit Samagam are selected based on their Rehit same way the Panj who should run our Gurdware should be selected based on their spiritual rehitvaan jeevan. It is Panj rehitvaan GurSikhs who qualify to become Panj Pyare. What qualifies as Rehitvaan? Panj Pyara must obtain from 4 Bajjar Kurahits, have at least all Nitnem memorized, have all Kakkars, MUST wake up at Amritvela to engage in Naam Simran.

We don't need democratically elected politicians to run our Gurdware we need selected rehitvaan Gursikhs.

I guess you don't believe in paying taxes on monies earned either.

Easier to not declare the income earned from donations from said temple and then claim off the corrupt British welfare state by stating you only earn £2 an hour.

Then go and preach against British western democratic corruption and how Gurus law is unquestionable and beyond criticism whilst living in a British secular democratic society.

Sounds like a plan.

I'm not familar with the process, how are those singhs selected for Amrit Samagams? But surely someone will have to choose which 5 singhs from the community meet the "requirements" the most, as there is bound to be more than 5. Would it not be the community who picks? I don't think democracy itself is a problem, its the lack of requirements.

I've seen a few posts from StarStriker bashing the UK now, thankfully he's not as bad as those Islamists posted on Londons street trying to enforce Shariah over British law.
