Why you are the cause of decay -------------------------------------- By Jagdeep Kaur Ever wondered why youth do not come to the Gurudwaras? Where have we gone wrong? Why have we failed to encourage them to attend the Sunday Diwans, or particpate in religious ocassions? The reasons are simple, but hang on to your seats, you may not want to face the truth. To begin with, the youth have little understanding of what a Gurudwara really is. Their understanding is, that it is a place where we go and bow down to our Siri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, sit down quietly and try and concentrate on what the Granthi is reciting, or to understand what the Ragis are singing. Their mind is n…

Pretty good story I found on the net. Those who have not read must read it. Guru Gobind Singh in Nazi Germany!!! MIRACLE DURING WORLD WAR II Bhai Ranjit Singh Kaki Pind, Jalandhar In 1964, when some of the holy weapons of Guru Gobind Singh were brought back from England, an Englishman, in complete Sikh form accompanied the weapons. The Englishman was asked by someone the reason for his adopting the Sikh form. Was it due to respect for the weapons or was there any other reason? The explanation given by him at Gurudwara Bangla Sahib is being reproduced for the benefit of the readers. " My name was A. David. I happened to be commanding a Sikh Regiment during World War…

Vaheguru Ji I have very thick dry heavy hair, I use oil to manage it. The problem I have when I tie my hair in a knot or in a keski, I always have a few strands of hair that pull, causing discomfort in the knot. Does anyone else experience anything similar or does anyone have any suggestions?

vaheguru ji ka khalsa vaheguru ji ki fateh Taken from D.S., Wriiten By Paneet Kaur (Sikhspeak Team). I fluttered onto the roof of a poor looking house as the early morning sun began to rise. The other crows were still sleeping but I felt restless this morning, like something BIG was about to happen. Maybe it was the buzzing of the flies that had me in such a buzz. The house I had chosen was one of my favourites to come for my early morning routine because the human that lived inside was particularly generous. Some humans seriously have a thing for us crows. Don’t ask me why; I don’t know. They’re always chasing us away with broomsticks if we ever get too near, and th…

The early morning congregation took place on 14th March 1823. The entire army and the generals attened the assembly. Maharaja Ranjit Singh and the generals had already discussed about the impending battle. The Jathedars opined that if they delayed the attack a little longer, it would enable the enemy to muster their army in large number. So it was decided to launch an attack immediately. Accordingly, supplication (Ardas) was made before the Guru and the victory drum sounded. Every contingent of Khalsa army marched past Maharaja Ranjit Singh and proceeding further on the shouts of Bole so nihal, Sat Sri Akal. Maharaja Sahib motivated all of them to fight to win. The band…
