Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh One day after the morning congregation was over a man brought a large bear into the darbar of Dhan Dhan Satguru Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj. The man wanted to give a performance with his bear before Guru Sahib and the sangat and as a consequence asked for permission. On being permitted to do so he began to wrestle with his bear. After a while he used his stick to make the bear do all sorts of tricks. At the time a Sikh called Bhai Kirtia Ji was doing chaur seva over Dhan Dhan Satguru Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj. As the bear did it’s tricks Bhai Kirtia Ji would begin to laugh out loudly. Towards the end of the p…

WAHEGURU JI KA KHALSA WAHEGURU JI KI FATEH Satguru Sri Guru Har Gobind Sahib Ji Maharaj, maintained an excellent garden with rare medicinal herbs planted in it. He also had a rare passion for collecting birds and animals that could be tamed and trained. Baba Har Rai Sahib Ji was having his morning stroll in the garden one day, he was reciting Waheguru with each breath he took. Guru Har Gobind Sahib Ji was also walking in the garden and was coming from the opposite direction to the one Baba Har Rai Sahib Ji was walking on. Seeing a beautiful flower on the ground, Guru Sahib, bent down and picked it up. He then asked, 'Who plucked this lovely rose and left it to be…

PRITHIA'S EVIL DEEDS For long, no son had been born to Guru Arjan. His eldest brother, Prithia, and Prithia's wife, Karmo, were glad they had a son named Mehar-ban. They thought that after Guru Arjan their son would be the Guru. It was a pleasing thought for them. But then, by God's grace, a son was born to Guru Arjan Dev. He was named Sri Har Gobind. This event destroyed all their hopes. They were filled with grief. Their hearts began to burn. Prithia was mean, evil and most selfish. His wife was even worse than he. She urged him to do something. He said to her, 'Don't lose heart. Our son shall be the Guru after Arjan. What if a son has been born to him? I will not all…

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh After a while Bhai Chand Daas woke up. He then tried to open his eyes but could not. As Bhai Chand Daas pulled himself of the floor he shouted for help but no one was there to hear his calls. He slowly moved his hands towards his eyes where he felt two iron rods, which had been hammered into his eye sockets. At first he began to cry but then he remembered that he had prayed to Dhan Dhan Satguru Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj. With newfound courage he took Akaal Purakh’s name on his lips and began to pull out the first spike from his right eye. As he did this blood began to flow from his eyes across his face and down towa…

the passage entitled Our Long Tresses, taken from the chapter The Garden of Simran: Don't you know these tresses of ours are the wandering waves of the sea of illusion? Guru Gobind Singh gathered the waves of the Ocean of Consciousness as the mother gathers the hair of the child. What is man but an ocean of consciousness. The master washed them, combed them and bound them in a knot as the vow of the future manhood which shall know no caste, not distinction between man and man, and which shall work for the peace and amity of spiritual brotherhood. He who wears His knot of hair is a brother to all men, freed of all ill-feeling of selfishness. He is to be on the bayonet's p…

vaheguru ji ka khalsa vaheguru ji ki fateh Guru Saheb deleted the vichaar I was typing : ) so this is by Bhai Kulpreet Singh, taken from the message board at www.akj.org. I have many personalities, many little me’s in the big, bold, egotistical I. So full of myself that I call myself “we,” and use “our,” and “us.” In reality it is just me, my full-of-my-self-egotistical-maniacal self… In our conversation, in our presentation, in our appearance we are nice, sweet, and impressive. Our character, however, is otherwise. We talk nicely, we write nicely, we walk nicely, and we are able to make others believe that we are nice. Yet our traits are terrible. We sow the seeds …

The NAME IS GOD by Swami Ramdas GOD and' His Name are not distinct from one another. Name is God Himself. The moment we think of the Name, our mind is filled with the presence of God. There is no easier way of focusing thought upon God than taking constantly His Name. When we repeat the Name aloud, we feel our heart is flooded with the ecstasy of love, because the sound of the Divine Name awakens the heart to the bliss and love of God. ALTHOUGH the mental repetition of the Name is held to be far more efficacious than the verbal repetition, still the rare experience of sweetness and joy derived by uttering the Name aloud is incomparable. When the entire being of the …
