Waheguru ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh to all sangat. There is a tre darbar pothi (found on panth.akali.store. Instagram) which contains banis from Aad, Dasam and Sarbloh Guru granth sahib. It has banis from puratan dasam birs which cannot be found in standard dasam birs. It has all kavachs, karninama, nassehatnama etc. A great work done by panth.akali.store. https://www.instagram.com/p/ClwIowAPrhJ/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=

Guest here, just had some questions I wanted to ask if there is any scriptural prohibition of child marriage in the Guru Granth Sahib, the Dasam Granth or the Rehitnamas. In the Rehitnama Bhai Daya Singh, on this website, it claims: The following sexual relations are prohibited: with a minor, a Muslim woman, a Brahman woman, a girl from one’s own sub-caste, a sister, or some other relative. In the PDF Gurmukhi version, I discussed with a punjabi gurmukhi translator and it said that there is no mention of 'minor'. https://vdocuments.mx/rehatnama-bhai-daya-singh.html?page=2 Also, what is a minor in sikhism and when do they become an adult? Is there any gui…

Jallianwala Bagh. 13 April 1919. Twenty-two-year-old Nanak Singh joins the mass of peaceful protestors agitating against the Rowlatt Act. What then turns out to be one of the worst atrocities perpetrated by the British Raj, and a turning point in India s independence movement, also becomes a life-changing experience for Nanak Singh, who survives the massacre, unconscious and unnoticed among the hundreds of corpses. After going through the traumatic experience, Nanak Singh proceeds to write Khooni Vaisakhi, a long poem in Punjabi. The poem was a scathing critique of the British Raj and was banned soon after its publication in May 1920. After sixty long years, it was redisc…

"Nanak Naam Chardi Kala Tere Bhane Sarbat da Bhala" is not Gurbani. I am trying to determine the origins of this and how it came to be apart of our ardaas. Would appreciate any knowledge that you can share.

I'm pretty sure I've posted these letters previously (a long time ago). But I'm linking this site here because the edition of the works therein also contains a transliteration of the original Panjabi used by M. Jind Kaur in her letters, which wasn't in the later edition I previously encountered. It'd be a project to rescribe them into Gurmukhi. https://issuu.com/sikhdigitallibrary/docs/three_letters_of_maharani_jind_kaur

I recently revisited this translation I did over a decade ago. I don't think I shared it on this forum. I welcome any proficient Gurmukhi readers to constructively critique the translation: I found this text fascinating. It’s an extract from an old rehatnama which is commonly referred to as the Chaupa Singh rehatnama today. The form is which this document reaches us today is not without its own complexities (like many/most Sikh manuscripts of older provenance). The stark contradictions in various rehat instructions within strongly suggest interpolations so, in its current form, it appears to be the work of more than one hand. That being said there is still a very str…

I remember I went to a Sukhmani Sahib paat some months before lockdown, and the paati started reading kabyo baach benti and went straight to swaiya without reading Kripa kari hum jagmata. So is it rude to interrupt the paati with the rest of Kabyo Baach Chaupai Sahib, or maybe even is it rude to not interrupt, ie rude to stay quiet? I am just thinking for if this happens at another family gathering in a house. Not asking for a big gurdwara programme, for that need a jatha of Singhs/sikhs to interrupt lol!
