Walk a mile in a Sikh’s turban Thursday at University of Guelph Preetam Singh, 20, describes his religious conviction as a love affair with God. The University of Guelph student is helping to organize the Sikh Students' Association's Sikh Awareness Day on Thursday. Non-Sikhs will get the opportunity to experience what it is like to wear turban. Rob O'Flanagan/Mercury staff GUELPH—A Sikh’s turban, or dastar, is a symbol of religious devotion and a mark of personal courage. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh. I went to the Guru Nanak Dev Ji Gurudwara in Smethwick, and I saw the youth club / gym there, and it is not used and I was hopping if anyone can tell the gurudwara to tidy it and make someone supervising it in the times between it is opened. Because me and my friends / family want to go to a gym, make muscles (lol), and socialize with Sikhs! :D So can you please, tell them to tidy it! Please. Plus this could be a great way for Sikhs to learn and socialize with other Sikhs. Please. Bhul Chuk Maaf. Daas. (This is kind of like a petition, to see how many Sikhs want the Gurudwara to re-open the Youth Club!) :D

Vaheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa Vaheguroo Jee Kee Fateh Do you think that the Youth should be part of the Committiya of Gurughar? Do you think their should be a 'retirement' age of being a member of the commitee? Because, if you look at today's commitee, most of them fight between themselves, and can't really cater for the Youth... Vaheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa Vaheguroo Jee Kee Fateh

Saadh sangat jee, a Gursikh from the UK has been planning to release a Youth Gurbani Handbook for free distribution amongst the world. He has found distributors in nations far as Australia and before he finishes it off, he is giving you all the chance to have your input and offer any seva you can do which would be beneficial to the overall production of the book. Please either use this thread for constructive criticism, or contact Jinni Khalsa on the email provided in the poster. The aim is that this book can be carried by youths in their pockets and they can use it for reference when times are good or bad, or that they can spend any spare moments reading instead of wa…

i personally believe the youth need to take back the gurdwaras in the west alot of these gurdwaras are run by corrupt commitees or closed minded <banned word filter activated> and i think having the youth take over these gurdwaras and reach out to every member of the community and bring the community together these older folks running the gurdwaras have no idea what the young generation go through in the west and props to the youth slate who run guru nanak gurdwara and just brought in common sence on issues raher then fighting over stupid things focusing on bringing all sikhs together to conquere challenges facing sikhs and society
