The mind of a true warrior (a WarriorSaint) is different from that of most other humans. In fact, it even differs from the mind of any usual soldier or fighter. A true warrior is free from all worldly attachments. Any possessions are known to be temporary. Attachment leads to weakness within the warrior. The true warrior understands that the life he/she lives is temporary and attachment to even being a warrior is a weakness that will fail him/her ultimately. The only attachment the warrior has is to God, who is ever-present alongside the true warrior, both in life and after death. A true warrior would not seek to harm innocent and defenceless humans or animals, even f…

The Sikh Tradition of Hola Mahalla Q. HOLI OR HOLA? A. Holi is a Hindu festival celebrating the victory of the Saint Prahlade over his evil aunt Holika who tried to burn him alive. However the reasoning behind this festival had long been forgotten, even during the time of the tenth guru, Guru Gobind Singh Jee it had become a meaningless day of throwing colour on each other. Guru Gobind Singh Jee ordered that his Khalsa would not celebrate Holi and instead introduced the tradition of HOLA MAHALLA. Hola is the masculine form of the word Holi indicating the bravery of the Khalsa. The literal meaning of Hola Mahalla is military exercises or manoeuvres. Q. When was Hola Mah…

In this age of fast and electronic communications, I would like to know what links do the S.G.P.C. and the different Takhats in India and all the Gurdwaras in India as well as abroad have? For this to take place , all of them have to have a computer set in their premises or Gurdwaras so that the same is communicated with the Sikh masses all over the world. Take for example the case of the impl…

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ke Fateh! Nineteen years ago, a war was fought,The warriors who fought, gave up a lot. Nineteen years ago, hundreds of families were eliminated,Old people were burnt and young children terminated. Nineteen years ago, men declared they wanted sovereignty and put their words to action, They no longer wanted to stand the anguish, dishonor, broken promises and vexation.
