I'm sure some of you have heard about the recent attacks on Asians in London near City University. A group of black and white youth were responsible. Does anyone know if Sikhs were attacked too. As the media is saying asians and sometimes it is saying muslim asians. Whether Sikhs were involved or not it doesn't really matter as i'm sure these daft racist scum don't know the difference between muslims and sikhs anyway. Sikhs should be careful around that area. A Kitchener WW1 hero remembered Private Buckam Singh fought for Canada in the First World War. He also inspired the Sikh community. But his story was almost forgotten. I've had zero luck so far and now my parents are letting me to go to India and find someone from there. (I am from London) I am somewhat dubious about going to india and getting married because my parents don't know many people there and I believe my parents' idea is to advertise in a newspaper. So we would have no idea of what the girl or the family will be like, it will just be based on how they present themselves. Anyone know how best to go about finding a suitable partner in india. My parents don't know many people there so the traditional family route isn't really open to us.

I am compiling a list of ways and methods that people from other walks of life use to try to convert our female (and male) Sikhs. I am just looking for a list of ways they use ie. Wearing the karra , using Sikh name etc. and the more sneaky ones. And not just the usual suspects (but mostly them) but also Jehovah’s Witnesses as well, even radhasoamis etc. Once we have a good list we can use this to educate and make our youngsters more aware. Thanks.

back then was waaaay different. ppl didn’t attend higher education or have much to do after the age of like… 13, lol. you’d have 13 year olds boys and girls that know how to do kethi, cook entire meals, etc nowadays even 22 year olds are extremely immature and can be sheltered. the average person doesn’t know how to do anything except their 9-5 which they are probably half arsing as well. -

Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
