I am about to get married soon in 2 months and will obviously be trying for a baby. However Im a male and over 30. I have heard that as we age this affects our fertility. I also heard our sperm is not as healthy as when we are younger. So before I even try for a baby. I want to make sure that I'm in a fit condition and producing healthy sperm. I don't excercis much and my diet is sometimes healthy but it depends. I also want my wife to be in a healthy condition beforehand. From what I know we should start exercising and eating healthy. So that Our bodies are ready. Anyone got tips on what to do even before you try for kids to get healthy?

I have a major problem at a sangat i have been going too. People have been talking about me behind my back and people actualy phoned each other to tell them to let their children know not to talk to me. One aunti ji actualy told me that i am Bad sangat and than i should basicaly iscolate myself from everyone there. Divorce, what is the sangats view on this. I am asking from a personal perspective. I have been divorced for 6 years now. Lately everyone seems to be saying that we should get together and put the past behind us. I have not spoken to my ex wife at all about it and I don’t know where these ideas are originating from. We have no children. Has anyone known a Sikh arranged marriage where the couple have got together after a divorce? I thought that these things don’t exist in the Sikh culture? It’s really messing up my head and I need to resolve this issue. What should I do?

i have been reading that Guru Nanak Dev Ji disappeared for 3 days whilst bathing in the Kali Bein river. Did Guru Ji meet Akal Purak as stated in the sakhi, if this was so why do Sikhs mention that Guru Nanak Ji was God himself in Sarguna form? What is the understanding behind this story, and how is to be applied as it can be confusing and contradictory with the two different statements i.e God as separate to Guru Ji, as opposed to Guru Nanak Dev Ji as God in Sarguna form themselves. Forgive my ignorance, I only wish to remove doubts and obstacles in my mind.

WJKK WJKF Hi so I'm currently in med school and I should be finishing in September 2015, i'm not going to practice picking up the degree and my parents know this part and there ok with my decision. Leaving aside Guru ji, the general question of taking afeem (opium) in limited quantities for war/medical wounds is simply unproblematic. When you go to the hospital, they give you morphine. What do you think morphine is? It's an opiate. Even codeine (cough syrup) is an opiate! Ever had a cough? Granted, it is against Gurmat to take opium or other drugs for the fun of it. -
Yeah, that's one possibility. Another I initially thought is that it's a Muslim trying to gather info. But then, you might ask, how does he know about Sikh textual sources. Well, you'd be surprised at their resourcefulness. A final possibility is he's a weak Sikh who was asked a question by a non-Sikh and now he's suddenly feverishly wondering where it's "written" that you can't marry a young child. To the latter, I would say, you're looking in the wrong spot. Gurbani isn't a 1428 page rulebook, like Leviticus or the Vedas: ਸਿਮ੍ਰਿਤਿ ਸਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਪੁੰਨ ਪਾਪ ਬੀਚਾਰਦੇ ਤਤੈ ਸਾਰ ਨ ਜਾਣੀ ॥ ਤਤੈ ਸਾਰ ਨ ਜਾਣੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਬਾਝਹੁ ਤਤੈ ਸਾਰ ਨ ਜਾਣੀ ॥ The Simritis and Shastras discriminate between charity and sin, but know not the essence of the Real Thing. back then was waaaay different. ppl didn’t attend higher education or have much to do after the age of like… 13, lol. you’d have 13 year olds boys and girls that know how to do kethi, cook entire meals, etc nowadays even 22 year olds are extremely immature and can be sheltered. the average person doesn’t know how to do anything except their 9-5 which they are probably half arsing as well.
