gurufateh jio. I just been informed that a prominent music teacher has been done for a huge fraud. This was kept hush hush and even his own students wont say anything about it. they are saying he has gone to india and will be back in August, the truth is he was scamming more than 60K in fraud. Here is the link to the story. http://www.thisisleicestershire.co.uk/Star-musician-pound-64-000-scams/story-14218989-detail/story.html this is a delicate one for community because many of us raised doubts about whether namdharis should even be allowed to do kirtan on Gurus stages, we were shouted down at Southall and this vindicates our position. Conversion of Sikh Girls—-Who falls prey? The Sikh community is waking up from a long sleep of neglect of the female child to find that their daughters are being converted out of the faith they were born in. Websites, blogs, Youtube videos are being made daily to wake up our daughters so we can save them. But sometimes we forget that just as much effort needs to be made to wake up our parents and our leaders so our daughters can be raised never to become victims of extremists that try to convert them. How can we blame the girl alone, when her upbringing left her vulnerable? Sikh girls that are raised to be the perfect obedient daughters or to be the daughter with great i…

Sikh’s detention reveals flaws in Afghan justice, nation’s religious intolerance By Ernesto Londoño, Published: January 30 KABUL — Among the throngs of inmates in downtown Kabul’s prison trying to prove they are not thieves or insurgents is a soft-spoken Sikh man with piercing black eyes. He is being held on a highly unusual charge: falsely claiming Afghan citizenship. Baljit Singh, 23, says he was born in Afghanistan but that his family fled religious persecution when he was 5. He returned to his native country on July 6, 2010, aboard a British chartered plane transporting Afghan deportees, and he has been locked up ever since by authorities who say he isn’t Afghan. …

Saw today a program which shown on Chardikala time tv India/USA and Sikhchannel UK/Europe. It was called Live: Mahan Samagam from Bangkok Thailand. Q1 Can someone give me more information why this samagam was held only because of the persons B'day who was interfering in shabads ( that is my opinion ) after some shabads he started doing katha. ‘I hung out with him on the set of Octopussy’ In the summer of 1982 a man asked if I was a Sikh and if I wore a turban. He had phoned to book a disco as I ran a mobile disco with my brother, so I wondered what my religion had to do with things. He told me he was from Eon Studios, the company behind the James Bond film franchise. He said the next Bond film Octopussy would have scenes filmed at the steam railway in Peterborough and the movie’s main villain would be wearing a turban and they needed someone who could tie one: could I do this for them? That rather surreal conversation led to me meeting Roger Moore and Kabir Bedi - the movie’s villain - in a loc…
