  2. Agree with osingh. I use to be into this whole 'end of the world / end times / anti-christ' nonsense as a kid even though I obviously don't follow the Abrahamic religions. It was a bit of excitement, a bit of fun. It was only when I got serious about Sikhi and started delving into our scriptures did I realise that none of this matters for Sikhs. If a messiah returns he won't be ours will he? The Muslims will say he's their Mahdi, Christians will say he's Jesus reborn, etc. Leave them to their nonsense.

  3. Fair points but next time there's a march for a Sikh cause (and NOT a nagar kirtan where people turn up regardless of adherence and love for Sikhi) such as the recent events surrounding Bhai Balwant Singh, you go tell every mona to pi55 off back home because they're not needed. If they refuse you give them a thrashing as well. I agree with you absolutely and completely about Sikhs adhering to the rehat of kesh, but your attitude won't get us anywhere. If monas have fallen by the wayside it's up to us to bring them back. Would you kick your own brother to the curb if he hit hard times? All of Mankind is the brotherhood; our brotherhood - let's begin considering people born into Sikh homes as our brothers shall we?

  4. How about lack of leadership? We cant even run our own gurdwaras, how will we run a country. Our current Sikh politicians are the most corrupt, who will we follow?

  5. Well the common thing is coz they dont understand the following things (in my crappy opinion): 1)Panjab/Sikhs were/was/is of a seperate country before british annexed it (and we wud like it back) 2)They dont understand the lies told 2 sikhs by nehru/gandhi, and how sikhs cudda had khalistan in 47', but were sold out by "our" leaders 3)They dont understand panjab has been bullied and discriminated since 47' 4)They dont know that Indian Govt was planning 2 invade Harmandir Sahib TWO yrs b4 it happened, n jus think that bhindrawale was a "terrorist" coz he had weapons inside there (So did Guru Hargobind)! 5)They think it wont survive, coz it doesnt have coastal/sea ports (NEITHER DID MAHARAJA RANJIT SINGH, IDIOTS), but there r various khalistan maps drawn up (look below) 6)THIS IS FUNNIEST ONE - It WONT have a military 2 cope with pakistans invasion! LOL!! i aint even gonna go here, such is the dumb nature of the question! (But read the statement below) http://storerooom.wo...e-mighty-sikhs/ 7)They think ALL non believers (hindus/christians/muslims) will be removed from our lands! When in history (apart from partition) did we EVER EVER ethincally cleanse ppl out of our hoods'? 8) Khalistan wud be poor economically coz india will "refuse" 2 trade with us?!? Well 400m ppl in india live below poverty line, is it me, or wud khalistan (with its beautiful food producin lands) actually call the shots on the price, not its starvin neighbours http://www.sikhiwiki...f_Khalistan.jpg - This is the most likely Map of khalistan (Panjab/haryana/Himachal/Northern parts rajastan) http://republicofkhalistan.com/images/WEBSITE%20FRONT%20copy.jpg - This is one that i like, but unlikely (includes jammu/gang doab?/western Gujarat/Rajastan) (I apologise if i dont come across intellectual, im jus a person whos still learning)

  6. Wahegurujikakhalsa Wahegurujikifateh So for a while now I've been noticing the spread of this symbol amongst gursikhs. However I don't understand some of the following regarding this symbol: When it came to be? Earliest known image. What it means and stands for? Why Sikhs seem to have adopted it as their symbol? Is it mentioned in any Gurbani or any rehat meryada? & anything else regarding it... Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Wahegurujikakhalsa Wahegurujikifateh

  7. "we can't run a Gurdwara, how are we going to run Khalistan?" really annoys me when you hear this absurd statement over and over again, the lack of intelligence and shear ignorance of some people is unbelievable.. So how did 500+ Gurudwaras outside of Panjab pop up with ZERO outside funding? Funded by people with ZERO management skills- majority straight out the pind, who came here with ZERO money, many spoke ZERO english Neasden mandhir received so much money from india, tell me which Gurudwara received money from India? ZERO Mosques have over 35 NATIONS with GDP (in billions of $) to promote islam.. we are technically Gulam, with ZERO GDP, yet we have Gurdwara in every major town and City. The Bottom line is, yes there may have been the odd tiff between Sikhs, yes, there are issues with marayada we don't see eye to eye on, but tell me one thing... Which Sikh jathabandhi has Burnt Maharaaj Saroops? Which Sikh jathabandhi has raped our sisters? Which Sikh Jathaebandhi has burnt our turbans? .. the ANSWER is NONE... and India has done them over and over.. Yet you gutless people rather chose to live under these butchers and rapists as 3rd class citizens, than face the challenge of uniting few different sikhi schools of thought. How can you compare the two??? its the weak minded, pea brained m0rons who come up with these pathetic arguments..

  10. Can't wait to see the (dead) faces of the Christians, Muslims and Jews as they have to settle for "Heaven", lol. I'd love to see their reaction when they're told they have to be reborn especially when they don't even believe in the concept of rebirth!!! Imagine their disbelief when they're told that their "Heaven" isn't all it's cracked up to be, lol. They'll be merked big-time! Expect to hear a lot of "What was the point of THAT?", i.e. in reference to the life-time they just completed. :biggrin2: Hopefully I won't be the one merked if someone tries to send me to Narak. I ain't going to tolerate that! I'll kick up a fuss and demand to see the manager! If a Singh turns up I'll be okay but if St. Paul appears I'm done for because he's probably racist. :nono:

  11. Don't forget the main reason for this is because the Indian Government picked up, tortured and kiled, those young men who would have been 50 with kesh today. Since that time of the genocide in the 80s & 90s young men are still put off from keeping their case. Some mothers are still frightened to start their children off on the Sikhi path with Kesh in Punjab for fear of the Police killing them one day like they killed Shaheed Jaspal Singh Ji a couple of weeks ago, and how they totured the Young Nihang Singh last week, and the others they have arrested and tortured who have not been caught camera over the last couple of weeks. Or the mothers are scared of their children becoming leaders and being arrested, like our leaders today! Until we have self rule, the central government will still be able to ensure there are hardly any Keshdharis are in Punjab - FACT!!

  12. In the late 70's (I think) the Park Ave site was originally bought secretly by the old Beant/Baccittar committee and there were rumours they bought it very cheaply but lied to the sangat that it cost a lot more hence pocketed the difference. But then that’s nothing new. Obviously the committee had taken a large loan out for the purchase of the building from the Bank of Baroda. Originally it was a supermarket and the pardhans said they only bought the site to generate money for a resale or develop a shopping centre and then sell. So they could then re-invest the money in Havelock Road which hadn’t had a facelift for decades. But once word got out of the scam, the committee was left with the Park Ave building as the sangat wasn’t happy with being duped. Eventually as happens committees change and the new committee refused to pay the loan and this started to spiral out of control. By now it was 1984....and the new boys in town where the International Sikh Youth Federation (ISYF) and they were young (very naive) and energetic and passionate and took over the Havelock Road gurdwara by force. People were happy (except for the die hard old committee members and their cronies). Remember this was the mid-eighties there was a big Sikhi revival and people wanted to see the new jujharoo movement. Meanwhile, the old committee decided to sneak back into Park Avenue, as it was still an empty supermarket shell. They put some basic electrics, plasterboard and heating and hey presto it became a gurdwara for the old committee. It did get taken over at various stages by the ISYF and diwans were held regularly, any big panthic confs took place at Park Ave as it was bigger than Havelock Rd. Years past and ISYF got thrown out by Beant/Bachitter Singh (sometime in the 90's) and Park Ave also got developed further. A deal by Sohi with the Indian High Commission meant the huge loan to the Bank of Baroda got written off...It’s useful to be friends with senior congressi's. Then a major revamp of Park Ave occurred prior to Havelock Road being demolished and then rebuilt for £20million (well that’s what they said, although you ask any architect and they will say it should have only cost approx. £10 million). So some people made some good money on it. It was hoped when the new Havelock Road was opened on 30 March 2003 that Park Ave would be closed or used for weddings/functions etc. But they have managed to keep both running. Anyway that’s a very brief history and I hope I haven’t shown the pardhans in a negative light.

  13. Remember our dharam is different to semitic religions (Islam, Christianity and Judaism). They are more concerned with end times theories because it has a lot of importance for them. Christians and Muslims believe in a final day called the day of judgement in which the dead will be raised and judged according to their actions and then sent either heaven or hell. All three semitic religions are also waiting for a messiah or the mahdi or the return of Jesus. The return of the messiah I believe will take place in the end times I believe. However, Gurmat does not mention the end times. Gurmat believes in the reincarnation of the soul. We are not awaiting a messiah to lead us or the end times. This age is known as Kaljug (dark age). This age will be difficult especially those that for those that desire to walk on the path to God. The union between the soul and God takes place within. Our messiah is already here, dhan dhan sri Guru Granth Sahib ji. We should adopt Guru Granth Sahib ji as our Guru through which we can realise our dream of meeting Akal Purakh. If the world does end that does not mean the end of us. This is not the only world in the universe, there are countless worlds like this, they are called karam bhoomi's - areas in which the actions are judged. Our soul cannot be destroyed, it will be transferred to another life form depending on our past actions. Whether the world is going end in 5 years or 5 billion years our ultimate goal of meeting with our Dyaal Purakh Meharvaana (the Merciful all pervading Lord) remains the same. We must strive to make as much spiritual progress in this life as possible. If the world is going to end soon then we must do as much simran and Gurbani paath as possible. Ultimately, we will all have to go to the court of sri Dharam Rai. Lets fill up our bank accounts with Naam and Gurbani. Satguru Mehar Karan!

  15. Rebel Singh Ji, Brilliant brilliant points you have raised above. You have proved, in a very concise and precise manner that a Sikh Homeland would bring a better quality of life and freedom for ALL people who resided there! West London Singh Ji, totally agree with you about the Mona having Pride in the religion, background, history, and Nation! I have met loads of them myself! They all say that they intend to take Amrit one day, and I believe them! By the way, I think the Moderates don't want a Sikh Homeland because they have a slave mentality and live in fear as you have both pointed out. They are happy to be ruled by a foreign people rather than being ruled by their own people, the Sikhs! And these moderates certainly don't believe in Guru Gobind Singh Ji's very own words, even though history has proven time and time again that Guru Gobind Singh Ji's words are true. In fact, history has proven these words to be 100% true (btw, I have yet to find any of the words of our 10 Gurus yet, which are not 100% true). Those words are: "Raj Bina Nahin Dharam Chale Hain, Dharam Bina Sab Dalle Malle Hain" (without self rule religions have disappeared, without religion, everybody is finished/trampled on!). Guru Ji also said that nobody will ever give you your rights/human rights, they have to be taken! It could be said that anyone who believes Sikhs should not have their own homeland, like the Hindus, Muslims, Christians and Jews have their own homeland, is disagreeing with Guru Gobind Singh Ji himself. Which is OK, unless, you call yourself a Sikh!

  16. Yep. Its too late for me and the wife. In order to get our full marriage certificate they made us sign to say we are Hindus who have had a Hindu marriage. For that, I will never forgive them. For the rest of their lives I will make sure each and every day is a miserable one.
