  2. I know some bits are not totally correct but think these videos are Superb and easier for Sikh punjabi kids to understand who can not understand Punjabi. Some channels could learn from these examples and explore in making better programmes for Sikh children.

  5. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Kee Fateh! Stay strong Singh! I was in a similar position when growing my hair & beard especially when i got headlice my family was negative and wanted me to cut my hair with excuses like "oh it'll grow back" but no i stayed strong thanks to the shaheedi of our Singhs & Singhini's! My advice would be to first try to explain why it's amazing to keep your beard to your family but even after that they don't agree then just go for it, i did, regardless of whoever likes it. The point is if you please your Guru Jee then that's all that matters! May Vaheguru give you strength

  7. This id iot needs to be refuted by scholars of the panth..regarding your second part of comment..i don't agree with that solution..that shouldn't be first solution/reaction to all problems (band aid fix)..sipahi spirit in sikhi should be born, properly controlled, preserved and nurture from sant spirit not from sheer tamogun..sheer tamogun makes one rakshash and khalsa is not rakshash!!!!!! I think this is where political activism is really lacking..We should really think in terms of introducing hate crime bill infront of badal (should have done during elections) to include all religions sacred scriptures are sacred (including sikhs) per law that anyone insulting them should be charged.!!!!

  8. That is a type of sleep paralysis, i also get this. But it is nothing to do with ghosts negative things. In punjabi people call it dubaah. And people think its related to ghosts. Which it is not. http://www.nhs.uk/conditions/Sleep-paralysis/Pages/Introduction.aspx

  9. Star Wars The Last Samurai The Dark Knight Batman Returns (both 1st and 2nd were the best in their own right) Pirates of the Caribbean Fast 5 and Tokyo Drift The Lord of the Rings Harry Potter The Cove Bhai Taru Singh Braveheart X-Men Indiana Jones (favorite out of the quadrilogy was The Kingdom of the Skull) Gladiator Troy Inception Avatar Singh31 - same here, it was so sad. Loved this movie. I liked it so much I saw it whenever I was bored sitting somewhere with my ipod video (the old 80 gb one) haha. I kind of listed more than 5 but I just listed all that came to mind lol. There has to be more that I can't think of

  10. Mark Tully is a GOI mouthpiece (stating the obvious). I remember he was interviewed by the BBC AN a few years back. This was before I began learning about the events of the 80s and Sikhi in general, and Mr. Tully pulled out the classic "Jarnail Singh was an agent of Congress....he hypnotised youth....etc, etc.". I was quite shocked how he was given free reign to go to town on so many sensitive issuesd on a national radio station. This joker put a lot of shanka in my mind at the time as I didn't know any better, but thankfully that is now gone. :biggrin2:

  11. Remember the first rule Of Kabaddi Club? You NEVER EVER wear a patka, only a small guti, to look like a grown mid-twenties 8 year old.

  13. In reality individuals/jathas in the panth are split on many viewpoints. Even on this forum most of us will have some strong differing opinions but will also strong opinions which we all agree on. My personal opinion is currently we are not is a strong position to stand divided, we need to recognise areas of potential and use them to our advantage. I heard Harinder Singh on the BBC programme and he clearly filled a potential articulate gap Sikhs' have not being doing for the last 27 years. This is something we need to desperately capitalise on, no one else is effectively filling that gap in the western media. Think about this objectively, this forum has been going on for 10 years and we have shared some strong opinions but none of us have stepped up to transferring them to the mainstream media. We even have 2 Sikh TV Channels, yet till now we have no articulate, charismatic, strong English voices to put the Sikh voice of 1984 forward in the mainstream. If someone is stepping up to it, pushing the right buttons, saying the right things to the media than we should at least recognise that. If people wish to counter the individual, then they need to step up to taking on the role that individual seems capable of doing. 27 years of disagreements over individual/jatha viewpoints has left us with a weak voice in the mainstream.
