This "censor everything I don't like" mentality that a lot of Sikhs have should stop. Either grow a thicker skin or debate them. Crying about it looks pathetic and only encourages people to post more controversial material because they know it makes some people angry.

It sort of cheapens the faith in my opinion. I think we should try and avoid gimmick style approaches to parchaar myself.

Do you think its feasible for a minority community like the Sikhs in Pakistan, who number only around 25,000 in a country of 180 million, to create any kind of insurrection? The issues concerning the Pakistani Sikhs is one that has been happening for a few years now, but has recently progressed out of the community to involve state apparatus. It's a dangerous development and I hope they sort it out sooner rather than later. We have enough problems in Pakistan as it is, without the Sikhs fighting one another.

I think we had a lot of sikh fighting sikh because the movement was also alienating to some sikh groups. Sikhs working govt jobs, sikhs living in cities surrounded by hindus. Sikhs living outside panjab in other states, nonamritdhari sikhs, householder sikhs in the pinds. For a while all pinds all of panjab was behind sikhs, even cynthia mehmoud says kharkhoos had so much support from public. That we all voted as one for Maan. But t didnt last. The farmers pindvale got tired of abuse they continously suffered alone with no support from kharkhoos. They would only do vengeance missles not prevention. Like killing beanta after he done too much evil stuff. Also declaring khalistan put those sikhs not in panjab in danger. But those sikhs shouldve come to sarbat khalsa to put their concerns. Same with ppl in govt jobs like police. We should have won them to our cause or made them quit. Later on Darshan Sio Raagi did tell all govt working sikhs to quit their jobs as protest. But it was too late n didnt work, sikhs jobs instantly snapped up by hindus n sikhs were left poorer with source of income gone. N as a protest total failure.... Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh I have the same problem of keep repeating bani, as I worry to much about the pronunciation as well. Before it was really bad but Guru Ji's kirpa it got much better. I still do it know because it is a habit but hopefully that will stop as well. Do ardaas and ask for Guru Ji's support, also before you start your path ask forgiveness if you pronounce anything wrong and ask Guru Ji to help you throughout your path. In my opinion movement died because we had Sikhs killing Sikhs. It was punjab police who are overwhelmingly Sikh men that killed our freedom fighters. Historically we have never had Sikhs working for the enemy to kill Sikh nationalists. Look at the Mughal era and later the Afghan era our enemies could never expect support of Sikhs to fight against Sikhs. It is only in the modern era that we have had traitor like Brar and K.P.S Gill and the thousands of Sikhs in the Punjab Police and their network of traitors (police cats and touts) being used by Delhi Hakoomat against the Panth. Such traitors did not betray the panth because they were patriotic Indians. They did it for selfish gains such as reward money for killing a militant or for some career promotion. This is how degraded our moral conduct has become. There was a time when it would have been unthinkable for a Sikh to betray the Panthic cause but in the modern era our people have become so selfish that they would trip over each other to betray the Panth for some cheap worldly gain. So it was our own traitors who killed the movement otherwise there was no one else in India who could beaten the Kharkoo Singhs.

I can understand that you Pakistanis like to think very highly of the Ummah. But don't expect the same from non Muslims, especially Sikhs who have suffered holocaust after holocaust at the hands of the Ummah. I have literally been all over India from North to South and have seen Indian Muslims. They are not what you are trying to portray them. Maybe where Muslims live in large numbers they have preserved their distinctiveness but where they live in small numbers they have largely assimilated. Muslim areas like in Delhi are always dintictive from the rest for the fact that poverty, backwardness, crime are rampant. Interestingly I have noticed one thing. Where there is high Muslim concentration, they begin to make life for non Muslims unbearable where they start to become fearful of their lives and where their Bahu Betis become a target of harassment.

The power of mool manter. A woman (from canada) got married to a guy from punjab (from poor family), they get settled here, had four kids. But after some years, she found out that her husband had some pshycological issues that he had not disclosed to her ever. He was suffereing from "sociopathy", that is a person having no pity or sense of guilty / be-reham. He would not sleep for 21 days when his condition got worse, won't do any job, was abusive to children. He was normal when he's out and a toatlly different person inside. She could see her world shattering right before her eyes so badly and a little bit hope of straightning out the marriage that she had in her mind somewhere, vansihed. She replied, "you are now dead for me and I am a widow from now onwards, you wanna live here or go, your decision". She would always pray to God but at the same time she knew that it's maybe because of her previous karams. And her husband did come back and apologized for what he did, but she was strong enough not to get emotional and risk her childrens lives. He might have thought of her like other indian women who get emotionaly distrubed and find their lives meaningless without husband. But it didn't happned this way. She did think of suicide many times, but also realized that he won't take care of her children, so she has to live for them because it's not their fault because they didn't choose their father, she chose for them. But she never abandoned Guru sahib, Finally her prayers got answered and she got strenth to move out to 1 room apartment with her 4 kids who supported her decision. She got inner courage and started working day as well as night shift for 3 years and today they are living a happy life. Her struggle is paying off, her children have turned out really caring, mature and responsible. The secret that she told me that she never share with anyone, is the mool manter, she survived only because of mool manter, doesn't matter where she is, she has mool manter going on in her head 24/7. And I do want to mention that she is not an amritdhari or too much into sikhi, but I think she is more close to Guru sahib than me. I respect her from the bottom of my heart for her strength and faith in waheguru ji and sharing and inspiring me. Before dealing with her, based on her outer look, I had some negative thoughts, but I feel ashamed now and have learnt that we should not judge anyone by their outer appearance. I hope many would get inspired.
