  1. Make a quick buck out of fools like me a century after he'd already died [ the memoirs were first published in 1968)? Haha boy you are stupid. You're consumed by your cynicism LOL. This source has plenty of veracity. Quit refusing to believe it just because you're worried it will ruin your whitey wet dreams. Besides that, I also never said it was East India Company policy, yet another one of your baseless inferences. It was just something some psycho soldiers did from time to time. We wouldn't know half the things we do about the history of the Sikh Empire if not for British accounts and reports, Sikhs were very bad at recording events.

  2. my ancestors may have came from them but when we got blessed with amrit that was all gone , I would give my life to protect the rights of my oppressed brothers and sisters against such trash-minded people, they are the ones that are holding the panth to ransom and preventing Khalsa raj from happening

  4. In Gurmat, we become aware of the Inmensity and majesty of Wahiguru. And moreover if ever we have to devote ourselves, that has to be only, and only Wahiguru Akal Purukh. Though there are many well known spiritual entities, gods, godesses, devtas, angels, which are worshipped by human beings at different places and in different dharams. But the fact is, at most one goes to their abodes for a temporary stay, then fall back into the creation. If one is bad or good by nature, worshipping these entities, will only make us get powers or boons, that is it. While on the other side, if we worship Wahiguru only, Fifth Patshahee in Raag Soohee, tells us in simple and plain words, what are the consequences in doing so : ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਰਾਧਹਿ ਮੈਲੁ ਸਭ ਕਾਟਹਿ ਕਿਲਵਿਖ ਸਗਲੇ ਖੋਵੈ Har Naam Araadhhehi Mail Sabh Kaattehi Kilavikh Sagalae Khovai हरि नामु अराधहि मैलु सभ काटहि किलविख सगले खोवै They worship the Lord's Name, and all their filth is washed away; they rid themselves of all sins. I think we need no expalnations, His lovely words are self sufficient by themselves. And if we did understand anything from it, it means, we become pure paviter, howsoever we are, and thus we merge in Him by His unlimited Daya Meher. Sat Sree Akal.

  5. I wouldn't bother going India, unless you are going to the historical Gurdwaras of Sikhi or visiting close relatives. I'm here at the moment, and it's changed so much from the last time I was here. My health has been affected so much by the change of everything here, and I haven't had much of a good experience since being here. The pind life has changed too, my internet keeps cutting off, so not sure if this post will go through. Internet reception is so bad. I should be used to India as I've been enough times, but this time I am just not adjusting to it as I thought I would. People have changed, everything's changed. So far, I've experienced there is no sense of humanity like when I used to come before. Nobody's cares about nobody, everybody is all themselves, "me me me". I thought it was a western abroad issue, but here it's much worse. Totally different planet. Big culture shock, I think I'm still stuck in the old way of thinking when people were friendly and used to care. But those words are non existent here. Ok so my experience so far; - I Am ashamed to say that the airport, named after Guru Ramdas ji, has not been done proud or maintained as it should be, considering it is the land of the Gurus. The disabled services are totally ****. Excuse the language, but I know I and others along with me went through an unpleasant experience. I ended up telling off the staff and having to fight for my right of getting a wheelchair, even though it was pre-booked. And on top of it I was asked for tips, which I refused to give and gave them a few lectures on disabled rights. I was told to sit in a wheelchair which was a sheet of fabric on top of metal bars or rods, obviously I refused to sit in it as it was so painful too. Some staff tried to fob off the genuine wheelchair users, but I got so frustrated and was disgusted by it, I took my stand and I'm so glad I did. God knows what I will go through going back. - Women here are very nasty, and have attitude problems. People lie to your face just to divert you from anything good. Rest I will tell you when I come back. Only met a few young decent genuine girls who love my way of thinking. Most women will be sweet to your face but then I see them talking about me in the corner. As I have been occupied in a wedding, haven't had chance to go sight seeing or to any historical isthaans. It's so tiring here, and you just feel like going anywhere. - Weddings are a nightmare here, no system at all. The process is different aswell. The men aren't too bad with manners and social etiquette, but the women are vicious, unorganised and want to be first first first at everything, be it the Maiya or Jago or the Anand Karaj. God knows why, because they don't do nothing when they get to the front ? I've been on purpose, and been give so many looks and Mehne. Women are very judgmental here and obviously have that great talent of chuglian and lieing. But I've had the pleasure of seeing the lagis, bajigar singers. Lagis are more greedy now, and have received a few negative comments and Mehne just for being from abroad. In Uk the milni is first and then tea and then Anand Karaj. But here, it's Anand Karaj, then off to the palace and milni then tea. The thing that made me angry most was the videographers and photographers. Every second they are taking pictures or filming. Like a billion photos with the most stupidest poses lol. I think the wedding was just a film and photo shoot, didn't even feel like a wedding. I've had to defend myself at the wedding most against women, it's quite dangerous being pushed and trampled, especially when you know certain women are doing it on purpose. So I thought enough is enough and got all my energy and gave them a taste of their own medicine. Didn't like doing it, but it was the only way to save myself from injuries. But hey it worked, because now they know not to mess with me and are being polite. It's like disciplining kids. Obviously the speakers are much louder than abroad so one doesn't really get to enjoy the wedding. - Talking about system, there is no system for anything, which I already knew, but seems to have got worse. No traffic system, no social events system, no shopping system, not really a system in the few Gurdwaras I been too. The people just don't respect system. That's about it on system and organisation, the only system I seen is lieing, chuglian and evil looks. - As you know staring is the norm here, but it's now accompanied by evil dirty looks again by the women. To which I've had to respond like this ? Or ?? Or said words in English which stops the dirty looks, which never happened before I used to come, only staring was the fashion. - One has to distinguish between the genuine beggars and the fraud beggars. I've found the genuine ones won't give Mehne and didn't hassle me so much. When I said I'm sorry I don't have anything to give which I didnt, they kind of respected me for it and moved away, whereas the fake ones gave me Mehne and made negative comments. I think I've felt more humanity from the genuine poor or low class people here and been talking to them it's made me feel more welcome than the normal people. I normally talk to the kids, they are so cute. But there is not enough discipline, kids are naughtier I think here. And unlike abroad they wonder around the pind by themselves or play with friends and the parents don't know where they are. I suppose it's the norm here. - There are more dogs barking at night, having their tantrums and arguments. The time you want to go to sleep kuttea di laraiyi hojandi ??. Then the neighbours put their stereo speakers on full blast trying to be DJs playing Bhangra. So yup you guessed it, no rest. Then in the morning the Gurdwara speaker goes on the loudest volume setting, which I'm trying to get used to now. But not one, then the other Gurdwaras and Mandirs put their speakers on too. There isn't really peace of mind as i can't get any laha from Gurbani when it's that loud. I think they've put the speakers louder than last time. It's like one whole mix up of loud noises and hard to focus on what's being read. But again it's the norm here, which I'm not used to. One day I was so tired and said the Granthi didn't do paat today. Everybody was like he did, I must have been in deep sleep. That's about it really, the delights of India, it's been raining so not sure where to go. Not sure what there is to see Jalandhar area. People don't advice on where to go. Is there anything worth seeing that somebody else has around here? Need some happy therapy as long as it's not food outlets, I'd be grateful if somebody could advise any sight seeing or historical places. Thank you ji. The rest I will update when I come back. ?? Waheguru

  6. I've met a couple. They're all cut from one cloth. They have this desperate need to fit in and be accepted. Their whole world collapses when they experience even the slightest sense of exclusion from whites. They may have had bad experiences with some boorish apnay. When you see crew of whites and they have this one, single exuberant looking, token ethnic 'pet', you are probably looking at one. I have to say: the whole colonial narrative with the docile, reliable 'loyal' Sikh forms the central part of what constitutes their personal 'religious identity'. That's why he is trying to attack so vigorously - what some of us are saying with an independent Sikh narrative/mentality totally jars with his own imagined perspective of what a Sikh is. His comments are a (probably subconscious) way of dealing with the cognitive dissonance he feels at encountering independent minded men. It also serves to show his masters just how loyal of a pet he is. lol

  7. Can someone explain what a "Jatt Sikh" is? There is no casteism in Sikhism. Oh wait, that's right this caste has tried to destroy the pillars of our religion and embarrass the entire Sikh nation with backwards pind mentality.

  11. They say cleanliness is next to Godliness. Infact I would rather eat from an old plate that is clean then a sparkling one with diamonds on it but is unclean. P.s its not important ? You want the whole sangat to become ill just because hygiene does not matter to you? The whole point of langar is to feed and nourish less fortunate people not make them ill. Even good and well meaning people can sometimes unintentionally get things wrong in food preparation. Thats why it is a good idea to have someone check over that everything is as it should be in terms of food hygene practices ect. I only starting thinking of this as I recentley visited a Gurdwara and the interiour did not look in good condition in terms of cleanliness. It made me think if they are not taking care of the building are they like this in all aspects.

  12. I agree it is disappointing and also really unfortunate that the existence of that type has now become the norm. And I say that with a very heavy heart because I am now well on my way to becoming amritdhari. Unfortnately, as things stand today, if you would ask the common man in our community what he thinks about amritdharis the answer is always that they are theives, cheaters and fraudsters. The reputation today of amritdharis generally, in our society, is rock bottom and all of us with religious / spiritual convictions have to take collective responsibility for that. In a sense, we've watched with our own eyes the mistakes the Muslim (Pakistani) preachers have made in their community over the last 20 years and instead of learning from those mistakes we're actually so silly we're copying them. They're mistake was that they went for quantity over quality and as such told their young to grow their beards and wear the hijab and do their prayers. Thats all that mattered. They did not teach them that this must come hand in hand with improving one's moral and ethical compass. Today, our parcharaks, especially people like Harjinder Singh and Nirvair Khalsa jatha, are making that exact same mistake with Sikhs resulting in more amritdharis than we've ever had before but very few of them actually being pure of heart. So, like I said, I would be hapier for my food to be prepared by a non-amritdhari that is a genuine, humble moral person than an amritdhari that cheats and lies.

  13. All our governments are dumb too and they're still making "mistake after mistake". I mean lets just look at the way they went after President Assad in Syria. He's an Alawaite so obviously not a real Muslim and so, if our govts had any sense, they would have realised that ths anti-islamic fundamentalist leader is actually on our side. But Isreal calls the shots. Isreal shapes the UK / US foreign policy Just as they would have, if they had aany sense, realised that Saaddam Hussain, as a baathist, was anti-Muslim fundamentalist. But Isreal calls the shots. Isreal shapes the UK / US foreign policy Just as they should right now, realise that the Islamic terrorists hate Shia Iran more than it does anyone else and has been killing them more than anyone else and so Iran is 100% anti-Muslim fundamentalist. But isreal calls the shots. Isreal shapes the UK / US foreign policy Just as in the 70's, 80's and 90's our govts, if they had any sense, would have realised that yasser arafat's PLO was 50% christian arab and 50% hard drinking fun loving muslims and so very anti-Muslim fundamentalist and so on our side. But Isreal calls the shots. Isreal shapes the UK / US foreign policy. A child learns from his or her mistakes. Our governments never do. They go from committing one mistake to committing the same mistake all over again somewhere else. But, the govt is elected by the people and the people get the type of government they deserve. We are all idiots. We're getting the type of governments our idiocy deserves.

  16. The Oil theory has been long refuted. If anything its the other way around. Do people really believe the US military is directly responsible for all the Iraqi civilian casulties? ? Surely it wasnt the countless shia vs sunni massacres or multiple daily suicide bombings, right? Without a doubt US caused a lot of civilian casulties too, but ROE certainly handicapped them. If they wanted too they could have turned Iraq into a dustbowl. I also dont believe they initially intended on staying so long, but Bush and his band of idiots had no idea what they were doing once Iraq was under their control. The initial mistakes by the likes of Bremer and Rumsfeld set up Iraq for a decade+ of violence. Too many Sikhs have the tendancy to shift blame from Islamic fundamentalists to USA, Israel, Illuminati, Rothschilds, Banks, or whoever else. We of all people should know what evil Muslims are capable of.

  17. My word, that's shocking. I thought maybe he'd have been fished out as soon as he fell in, but that's horrible. Is there a chance of his skin returning to normal the older he gets, or is that impossible? Kids shouldn't be messing around in langar kitchens. Some parents seem to relinquish all responsibility for their children when they're at the Gurdwara, as if nothing can go wrong.

  18. ^^^ That's all well and good, but if the aunty that prepares the prashadeh in my local gurughar doesn't wash and clean her hands after she's done a number 2, no amount of simran on the auntie's part is going to prevent people from falling ill, hence the need for the local authority inspection teams that visit restaurants also making their way to Gurdwara langar kitchens. It's common sense. It's NOT a sign of a lack of faith.

  19. The existence of ISIS is expediting Western designs on the Middle East, yes, and its existence is also convenient to the Turks and the Arabs. But neither of those things prove that any of these powers had a hand in setting up ISIS. I think ISIS haven't attacked Israel yet because they're all talk. That's all any of these Islamic groups are, and all they ever will be, because their worldview is too backward to give rise to the kind of civilization that would be scientifically/technologically/militarily advanced enough to go toe-to-toe with the West or Israel. Contrary to all the media hype, the military threat posed by these terrorists is negligible.

  20. Unfortunately , many fall into the trap of thinking anything written about sikhi must true before even considering the motivations of the writers ... I've seen enough mangled gurbani translations and quotes to be sceptical at least ... it's websites with open edit facility that are most prone to attack by antisikh elements .

  21. By rights a resolution passed by Sri Akaal Takhat Sahib against the anti-Dasam faction should be the most powerful strike our qaum is capable of mustering against their movement. That was the situation in our forebears' days. In reality though, all these tankhaiyas are completely ineffective these days because the body which is passing them is weak and lacking the united support of our Panth. Not that I blame Sikhs for withholding their allegiance to such a rotten institution. Even I ignore Gurbachana and everything he has to say about anything. But when the biggest and most influential jathebandia and sampardaay of the Sikh world, the AKJ, the Taksaal, the Nihang Singhs openly ignore the determinations of Akaal Takhat and even set up their own rehat maryadas in direct opposition to Akaal Takhat's own, you can't really expect a group of fringe heretics to take them seriously. What we need is for all these squabbling jathebandia and the rest of the Sikh world to swallow their corrosive pride and unite beneath the aegis of Akaal Takhat once we've expelled the traitors and charlatans from it's halls. Only then, when Sri Akaal Takhat Sahib is once again what Guru Sahib intended it to be, will the tankhaiyas passed against Darshan and his chele have their devastating intended effect.
