  1. I didn't say you did nindya of Sants, you said it yourself in this post. How can I be joined to a Sant, when the Sant has their own karm, own bhagti, own kamaiyee? Somebody being joined to another is impossible as every soul comes into this world with their own karm. If you think that I think a Sant will give me some of their kamaiyee, then you are wrong, because you are only assuming this without asking me what I think Paji. I have respect for Sants, Gurmukhs, as we can learn from them, they are here only as guide, sent also by Waheguru. Each soul has their own role to play in this life. So me having respect for a Sant does not mean I worship the Sant. I worship Waheguru, God, the one and only Lord, and I bow before Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji. So how does that give you the right to assume ? You wrote the word " seem ". That's exactly what it is, "seem " and "assume" to you. I respect any Sant, Gurmukh, Pracharak who enlightens with the truth only and of Waheguru, of any Samparda, and it's within Gurmat, and I'm not ashamed to say that, because I'm doing nothing wrong by respecting. You see you need to distinguish between what respect is and what worship is. So you should not "assume". Thank you ji, Paji Pakhandi Baba, I hope you understand it now.

  2. Much of the Bani of Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji is written in Old Punjabi, a little different from today's. Punjab doesn't have a very extensive written history or literature compared to most other tongues, certainly not one one originating in the time when our Gurus inhabited physical forms. Gurbani is therefore one of the few sources which can help us to understand Old Punjabi - you won't find any books about it. Read the Bani in English alongside the Gurmukhi so that when you encounter a difficult word, the meaning and translation are at hand. This should also help you to understand those baniaan written in other tongues, like Persian or Brajbasha.

  3. Where did I criticise anybody penji? Or mention any names? I only stated the truth, that there are ones that don't stop people from matha tek to them, some actually make fools of people making out they are of high spiritual status, when they are not. I have also experienced this myself. You are the one that has written all the above names, where I haven't even mentioned any Sant or any Mahapursh, I'm talking about the pakhandis. If anything I have talked with respect of high avasta mahapursh, neither have I said who is or is not avasta wale Sikhs, so please don't turn something into what it's not.

  4. "Gippy Grewal directs a powerful Punjabi drama exploring deep-seated social problems. Gurmukh Singh is a bereaved teacher from the city, who finds himself transferred to a small village. He quickly becomes aware of the many social issues facing villagers, from poverty to alcoholism and suicide. When his past catches up with him, Gurmukh resolves to live his life to the fullest and devote himself to improving the lives of those around him. His strength is his firm religious faith. But will this be sufficient to deal the ever-growing problems besetting the community? Having made his name in the Punjabi film industry with such hit entertainers as Carry on Jatta, Bahji in Problem and Jatt James Bond, singer and actor Gippy Grewal turns to social drama for his eagerly anticipated debut as writer and director. It is at once moving and uplifting, with a fine supporting cast and music by Jatinder Shah."

  5. WJKKWJKF Sadh Sangat Ji,please post some suggestions and links to sources for learning and understanding SHABADS from gurbani,. I feel very ashamed when sometimes I dont know the complete Shabad sung at GURUDWARA SAHIB.I personally believe we should atleast try to learn all the SHABADS because when you know the SHABADS ,you stay more focussed while listening to kirtan at GURUDWARA SAHIB. Earlier too I have tried to learn Shabads but I want to do it in a systematic manner this time. This time I want to learn ,understand and imbibe one SHABAD at one time.

  6. Be nice to get men into the kitchen in the first place The only positions in the committee offered to the women are "kitchen di seva", with the exception of Sri Guru Singh Sabha Hounslow, where females have actually had leadership roles (stage secretary).

  8. I respect any Sikh preacher, Kirtani, Sants [not the fake ones,as there are many] I've not done nindiya, but you seem to be the type who are joined to the Sant and not to the message of Gurbani? The ultimate goal is for YOU to be one with Waheguru and not what kamaiee a Sant does. As his kamaiiee is for his soul and not yours, just as me eating food would not eliminate your hunger. Satguru naal jur, not the Sants

  9. Google image "omar bakr al-baghdadi" The leader of the caliphate state of ISIS.He is a sunni Google image "ayatollah khomeini" Another spiritual leader he is a shia Both looks like a sikhs, there images are always in the media. What does your gut instinct tell you? Especially after the belgium attacks? I would avoid Belgium and France right now Listen to your gut, you may decide to go, not listen to your parents and when you are about to aboard that plane your gut instincts may or may not kick in. If it does you will have this horrible feeling.

  11. Punjabi movies will continue to focus on Jatts or at least give Jatts more significance simply cause they are the primary customer base. The pro-Chamar genre of music doesnt have 1% of the success mainstream Punjabi songs do. I believe movies based around Chamars will suffer similarly. Ardaas delivers many messages, they should have focused a bit more on the caste issues as well, in my opinion. Lets hope our Punjabi Sikh community actually learns a thing or two from this movie.

  14. WJKK WJKF No one needs to be celibate. It doesn't do anything. Live a life of ghrisi and control Kaam within your marriage. Ragi doesn't mean monk, it means someone who can sing within raag as per gurbani. Spiritualism can be gained by the male or female, young or old within the life of ghristi. The devotion is within sewa of humanity and creation itself. Also, by mediation of naam one achieves a heightened spiritual awakening. Naam being the whole of gurmantar. For the intelligent who can recite with true faith a whole sukhmani sahib Ji da path or to those with less ability who faithfully jap one word "waheguru" , spirituality canbe gained and one can gain mukhti. There is only one maryada.

  15. Celibacy seems to be a buddhist concept where Buddha thought it best that his Bhikshus become celibates. This Buddhist concept then seems to have influenced Hinduism which in turn later influenced Sikhi. Otherwise there is nothing in the teachings of the Gurus or even of the Bhagat Sahibaan which encourages celibacy. That is why almost all Sikh Saints have lived Grahisti jeevan. Celibacy is the easy way. Anyone can become celibate and follow Sikhi. But real challenge is to follow Sikhi while living Grahisti jeevan. Real challenge is to not indulge in kaam then, or not to get krodh when your kids annoy you or spouse argues with you after a long hard day at work. Or how about doing bhagti and paath, keeping amritvela while living a family life. There are so many pressures in grahisti jeevan that celibacy does not even compare. That is why it is said following Sikhi is like walking the razors edge. Anyone can follow Sikhi if they are celibate. But only a really dedicated person follows Sikhi while living Grahisti jeevan.

  16. A story I heard somewhere. Guru and chela walking to a destination. On their way, they came across a river. Just before they cross the river, they saw a young, beautiful lady waiting to cross the river. She asked for help. Though she was very sexy and dressed scantily, Guru never hesitated and carried her across the river. Chela was shocked to see the hypocrisy. Guru always told him to stay away from sex and other women, but when Guru got a chance, he readily carried her in his lap. So anyway, their walk continued. Now chela was upset. Guru noticed his upset chela for couple of days and then asked him the reason why is he upset? Chela told him the reason. Now Guru said," I carried her in my lap for few minutes because she needed help. I never cared her being young and beautiful. But listen, you have been carrying her in your mind for last two days." Its a state of mind as these lines indicate indrijeet panch dhokh te rehet Nanak kot madhe ko easa apras The person who will have conquered all his desires is going to be one in a million I guess it is all got to do with the level one is on. If someone is completely devoted to Guru Ji they will be celibate. The updesh for everyone else is to live a Gristi jeevan until you are able to get over the 5 vices by devoting yourself to prayer. Celibacy has been forced on older religions with not so good results. Guru ji has perhaps simplified our own lives for us with updesh for grisht jeevan so that we can make the most progress in the spiritual field. If however there are souls who are higher than us - in that their needs are totally different to ours, in that they are absorbed in loads of simran perhaps Guru Ji prefers such souls to do his seva. Seva done this way will also serve as a pointer of a higher avasta to others.
