  1. Does not matter. Those mere 400 job loss out of millions of population is peanuts. Anyway, those are most probably out-of-state folks. Advice you not to go to such B grade news website.. Look at how these editors editors are scratching their bums for nothing -- > https://www.opindia.com/2021/08/capt-amarinder-hockey-women-regional-politics/
  2. Uhdoke is nothing but a scam artist. Only a good speaker... These ppl play with our history..
  3. What can be done? The whole country agrees with what happened is beyond cruelty and they are too liberals now and do not believe in such hatred ideology (colonial mindset). While south of their border US is total different story and they need a big change.
  4. I betcha they disbursed sangat members. This is the same police group who is in bed with anti-sikh british folks and raised sikh activist homes?
  5. Another interesting book that i read long time ago.. https://books.google.com/books/about/The_Man_Who_Would_Be_King.html?id=R2Q51iIenvEC The Man Who Would Be King is the riveting story that inspired Kipling's classic tale and a John Huston movieIn the year 1838, a young adventurer, surrounded by his native troops and mounted on an elephant, raised the American flag on the summit of the Hindu Kush in the mountainous wilds of Afghanistan. He declared himself Prince of Ghor, Lord of the Hazarahs, spiritual and military heir to Alexander the Great. The true story of Josiah Harlan, a Pennsylvania Quaker and the first American ever to enter Afghanistan, has never been told before, yet the life and writings of this extraordinary man echo down the centuries, as America finds itself embroiled once more in the land he first explored and described 180 years ago.Soldier, spy, doctor, naturalist, traveler, and writer, Josiah Harlan wanted to be a king, with all the imperialist hubris of his times. In an extraordinary twenty-year journey around Central Asia, he was variously employed as surgeon to the Maharaja of Punjab, revolutionary agent for the exiled Afghan king, and then commander in chief of the Afghan armies. In 1838, he set off in the footsteps of Alexander the Great across the Hindu Kush and forged his own kingdom, only to be ejected from Afghanistan a few months later by the invading British.Using a trove of newly discovered documents and Harlan's own unpublished journals, Ben Macintyre's The Man Who Would Be King tells the astonishing true story of the man who would be the first and last American king.
  6. Questioning without religious knowledge and taking advice from others from same personality is not only dangerous but offers no solution. Your soul will keep jumping from point A to B with no clear answer you will get. Study Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji and tons of other literature that are out there. Our 11th Guru Sahib jee will helps you getting the right answers to you.
  7. Not any baba that i know but we have one forever living Guru - Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.
  8. I agree with you. History is our proof that Sikhs were always very easy to trust others and we suffered in the end for our good nature. I always agree with our forefathers who did not side with others in the Mutiny of 1857 against British. It was the Mughals uprising against East India Company to regain their control over India. Glad that sikhs did not play any part because of our history with Mughals and also these mutineers played role in bringing down Sikh empire with help of British. Plus Sikhs also made their mind using their moral compass; which is to provide help where innocent families were getting slaughtered.
  9. This proves no point my brother. I do not think there is any point to judge the whole group of people by this churaman character. It is same like that some Sikh leaders even sided, dined and honored General Dyer after Jallianwala bagh massacre. With that thread there is no one saying that these people are great folks and we may have huge differences but that can stay as long as both keep respect for each other. The meaning of the thread was that there was once a pure hatred between Sikhs of Punjab and Haryana Jaats. Now, with this economic battle they banded together. What happened? They say they have a lot of common bond than the differences 'created by hardliners like Rss, arya smaji and government
  10. Though i don't believe in fighting over any piece of land... I believe that is old style of outdated fight that carries too much hassle and purely waste of time. Punjab is just another small piece of land. Our land was and will be much bigger than that and it was taken away by various type of folks.. (Including by folks who pretend reciting "Ram, Ram" and at the same time holding shoori in the hand behind the back. Peace brother...
  11. Brother, I have been telling you that this is SikhSangat not AryaSamaj forum.
  12. Sikh Dharam and living lifestyle is such a gem that anyone who comes to experience living with them will feel like truly brothers and sisters bond. With Kissan Morcha, this is what happened when Haryana Jaats got the reality live-in, sit-in and see the nature first hand. Don't kid yourself for a second that Sikhs are killing each other and we need to fix that issue. Self-blame for our problems and demoralizing ourself and the community is the game plan of some of master players. There are *Some* folks/group/members/parties/religion who would never in million years would like billion of Indians to have the same reality live-in, sit-in, culture exchange with Sikhs of Punjab that JAATS of haryana had in an non-planned jist of moment. All these *Some* folks/group/members/parties/religion/Govt sponsored entities such as "SGPC" is minor player at the bottom level. These *some folks* would like sikh community to keep themself busy mingling with pity politics at the SGPC level. Sikhs need to broaden their Horizons. Sikhs did a lot for India and it is past-due time for Sikhs to expand to whole India.
  13. Iran under Shah rule was good and so was Afghanistan prior to proxy war taken over there between Ruse and Amreeka. Karzai and so others will always be the corrupt ones. They enjoy milking western govt for funds and to keep their raj kaim.
  14. With the comment like that... You don't seems to feel good seeing Jaats adopting Sikh religion?
  15. You don't have to but i don't see anything wrong if they asked you to do so. I went for this for some scan and i didn't remove it. I doubt they or you will have to take off keski for this.
  16. Depends on your level. If you are PRO then go for known brand Nagi or Yamuna etc. If you are at the beginner level then any good regular harmonium is good. Always buy a new one and make sure to get it set by someone professional or a known ragi person in your area. (like a tune up - not sure if needed but i did). Try Ebay, you can find some harmoniums there.
  17. Any update on their current financial health?
  18. Admin is currently working on it and i believe he will be upgrading few stuff as well.
  19. Waheguru ji ka khalsa Waheguru ji ki fateh Very good of you finding yourself on the path to follow sikhi. You have a lot to learn and one thing i would suggest you is not to reach to conclusion swiftly until you actually spent time researching/reading texts (not google search). Read the basic Rehat Maryada and if you find your soul clashing with its content and disagreee with it then you should wait and not hurry up. Study study study...
  20. Below posted back in 2008 - Controversial Topics Raag Maala: Raag Maala appears on the last Ang of Guru Granth Sahib Ji. There has been much conflict in the Panth over this for the last 150 years. Majority of the members on this forum are at young age. This is the age to learn about Sikhi so that we can follow Guru Ji's path. It is very easy for young members to go off topic and turn the debate into personal attacks which brings down the quality of the forum. Although Bani is very dear to us and we would like to see this matter resolved but many great scholars have written so much about it. Both sides have good intentions and respect Bani very much. Any insulting, jatha bashing or vulgar comments are not allowed and will result in banning the member without any notice or warning. If anyone wants to explore this topic he/she should read the books that have been written in the past and make up his/her mind. No topics about Raag Maala shall be discussed on SikhSangat Forum. Warning will be issued. We request everyone to respect each other's beliefs and learn from each other. ----- Feel free to talk about the discovery of puratan granth. Any reply after this reply on the issue of Raagmala will get the thread locked.
