Would you forgive the man that repeatedly raped your mother bitting into her cheek while he enjoyed himself at your mums expense?
Would you forgive the police officer who abducted your 15 year old sister up from her way back from school, for her then only to be tortured and raped to death?
Would you forgive the man who kicked your pregnant partner making them to lose your unborn child?
One can only truly forgive if they are detached from the other party, their actions and the situation and 5 vikkars, this is showing God's real virtue of forgivness. 99.8% of people on this earth are most likely not capable of this. Are you this bhai sahib ji? Are we this here on SS this?
Forgivness is not just simply saying 'I forgive you' then holding unpleasant thoughts against them afterwards. It just doesn't work like that... It is good that you are looking up to the high values and virtues derived from Gurbani and pointing us in the right direction, but daas does not pretend to be something that daas isn't, daas is not on that level of spirituality where everything is True/Vaheguroo. Its just like trying to say its okay to be a gay Sikh because the end game is that its all about the soul, when really gays are sexually attracted to each other - suffer from 5 vikkars, therefore hinding behind something which they cannot truly live up to themselves.
In the movement there were Singhs who did truly forgive perpetrators of inhumane acts, however they rememebered that they also have a duty to perform for the betterment of humanity so when these people repeated their actions again, they were delivered to the court of real justice permenantely. These Singhs rememebered why we were blessed with a Kirpan for (not just to perform Bhog with like many Sikhs today).
There is nothing wrong in remembering, this does not automatically lead to hate brewing up. But to forget and turn a blind eye means that one can never truly learn from the lessons of history or maybe don't want to accept what has happened and have little compassion. People guilty of this will also be aiding perpertrators in a subtle way, for them only to continually feed their nasty habits and have free reign until they naturally pass. All just because true justice is waiting for them in the hereafter and they do not feel it is right to take action in any way, shape or form in the here and present. Where is the compassion in that? Where is the greater love for Gods creation? Should we be ruled by tyrants and lost minded individuals consumed by kaam, krodh, lobh, moh and hunkar? How will the light of Truth ever come about if we dont take action be it in the life we live and the life that we are part of, humanity?
Finally also remember this though bhai sahib ji, all those that choose to take a stand are also bound by Hukam and it is Hukam too for justice in the here and present to be delivered in one way or the other when it is the case... so please do not mention Hukam is this and that when one cannot comprehend all of the bigger picture.
