  1. well it worked the other way round didn't it, when they replaced rabab with harmonium. Even Mardana's descendants in pakistan play harmonium, so they maneged to replace a string instrument with harmonium yes but this effect does make a difference in thought and feeling etc! being anti-tradition and hinduphobic has made sikhs more naastik, such as being anti-dasam, anti-dhup, anti-jyot and calling these things bamanwaad and superstitious, and also creating a naastik shankawaadi version of chaupai sahib
  2. isn't beadbi of dasam bani a massive issue? It was happening at my mona relatives' house.

He started a religion and circumcised all the kings. He caused all to utter his name and did not give True Name of the Lord with firmness to anyone.27.
  4. so I wonder what impact playing and listening to harmonium has had on the sikh panth since last century?
  5. ok. it's scholars and revisionists who added their manmatt into sgpc maryada, they are still given free reign and will do so until sikh leadership gets better and more traditional.
  6. I remember I went to a Sukhmani Sahib paat some months before lockdown, and the paati started reading kabyo baach benti and went straight to swaiya without reading Kripa kari hum jagmata. So is it rude to interrupt the paati with the rest of Kabyo Baach Chaupai Sahib, or maybe even is it rude to not interrupt, ie rude to stay quiet? I am just thinking for if this happens at another family gathering in a house. Not asking for a big gurdwara programme, for that need a jatha of Singhs/sikhs to interrupt lol!
  7. If British government is going to behave like this, then maybe it really is time to petition the British Parliament to look again at their anti-sikh anti-punjabi Ratcliffe Line decision!
  8. but who is going to tell the keertanis playing harmonium in the gurdwara? If harmonium is allowed, then how can we put down anything else? Harmonium players even damage keertan by using tunes from bhangra music instead of playing raags!
  9. oya jatta, go back to pakastan and take your bodda with you! =D Is there a racism problem for sikhs and in schools? I was surprised with one of those freshie viral youtube channels where the family lives in Australia, and father wears pagh and the son has a haircut and has a warrior name like Tegh Singh. So is there a big racism problem like the uk sikh immigrants used to face decades back, from goray and schoolkids? alot of weddings I go to seems like some kind of kenya sikh is on the dholi team, can tell from the pagh. Also there are tarkhan background producers in the uk. I remember the tram beard was a big thing for takhans in the 2000s punjabi music industry! Don't worry we they will get the pakstani jattas and pak punjabis to join in! Have you seen some of the pakistani weddings on tiktok, some of them are mad when doing bhangra, look a proper joke when doing it though so embarrassing..
  10. I was ill for the past few weeks, with some flu or cold (checked for covid but not positive). For some reason, some illnesses make it easier for me to wake up, others make it hard. Actually some days this illness made me wake up early and other days it made me sleep very long!!! Also, I have always found it easier to wake up early when in Punjab/India. I don't know why I find it more difficult in the uk?!
  11. AKAAAAL! Do they still use Poojari term for Takht Patna Sahib and Hajoor Sahib in modern times? I hope they do!!! I am sure it brings out the hinduphobia in SGPC land and some people on this forum.
  12. anything better than "there is one god". Seriously, why are we taught such nonsense meanings of ek onkaar???
  13. end of the day make sure you read Chaupai Sahib properly during Sodar Rehras Sahib paat before even considering reading full Anand Sahib during Rehras. We need to fix the damage done to Chaupai Sahib and Rehras by anti-dasam supporters like Bhasauria! Make sure to read Kripa karee hum par jagmata.. ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰੀ ਹਮ ਪਰ ਜਗਮਾਤਾ and Arril before even THINKING ABOUT extending Anand Sahib. I would also encourage everyone to look at how much additional bani is added to Chaupai Sahib at Hajoor Sahib and Budha Dal. Read or listen to a sampooran Rehras with much dasam bani, and then consider adding full pauris Anand Sahib. I usually listen to long Hajoor/Hazur Sahib Rehraas on PTC Simran on Youtube. Sangat jee, why not give this a go??
  14. yo Jazzy, what's the point of wearing the khanda necklace, or that gym guy wearing khanda tattoo, if all the 'jattz' look like pakistanis, is everyone tryna be a pakistani jatt yo? Need More real East Punjab Jattz! Bring back the old school jattz! Pagri Sambal Jatta
  15. use tiktok, you will get more views. I have got a mobile gaming channel on youtube and tiktok, we can follow each other.
  16. I am still sorting out my sleep schedule, but I feel 6am maybe too late now for amrit vela during the summer period, and actually 7am is better in some parts of winter.
  17. It's been a few years since I stopped home console and PC gaming. I stopped portable 3DS gaming a few years ago and have been mobile gaming for some years now. I have been trying to get back into gaming on my XBOX one S, but things keep coming up, or sleep time keeps coming up lol I wouldn't mind getting into multiplayer gaming where we can make money from competitions such as League of Legends, Fortnight or creating Roblox games, can we make money from Apex Legends and Minecraft? We should create teams which sync well for competitions. Other games we should just play really casually and not get too serious.
  18. sexual predator against women, and hatred against jews.
  19. in this fun, innocent way it's kind of ok. they are also preserving some folk stories and sayings in their boliyaan. It's only when people start obsessing over bhangra competitions and also these bhangra songs and videos which objectify women and use lyrics which dumb down our community, that's when things are going bad and we need to concentrate more on our sikhi, learning bani and history, and even preserving raag music and raag keertan etc.
  20. Jawaddi Taksal - YouTube Raj Academy - YouTube GurmatSangeetNetwork - YouTube BaruSahibHP - YouTube Anahad Kirtan Society - YouTube And this may not be to everyone's liking, but they are doing keertan of bani and keeping raag maryada, so this is no problem for myself: Sri Bhaini Sahib - YouTube

  22. meat only applies to certain jathabandi, budha dal, tarna dal, takhts patna sahib + hajoor sahib and EVEN sgpc Akal Takht rehit maryada are excluded from these rules. IT's the akal takht maryada yo
  23. please read 52 hukumnamas of Guru Gobind Singh, it says not to start grihast jeevan without anand karaj, so you cannot have partner without anand karaj, so you cannot have a girlfriend.
  24. I know that Baba Dyal Das' son mass introduced Anand Karaj ceremony to sehajdharis, and then the Nirankari sect performed first Anand Karaj around Guru Granth Sahib which was probably at a stage when Nirankaris were mostly keshdharis or perhaps amrit-dharis too. I am unsure at which stage Guru Granth Sahib started getting mass printed in pad-ched saroop. It would probably have been difficult to do modern style Anand Karaj when there were only a few hand written Guru Granth Sahib saroop, such as during Guru Gobind Singh's time there was literally only one Guru Granth Sahib saroop for the whole panth at one point alongside a few Adi Granth saroop. Therefore it would have been really difficult for most sikhs, even most Singhs to do an Anand karaj around Guru Granth Sahib before mass printing during colonial times, and there would have been a different ceremon back then. Even today, if someone wants to perform Anand Karaj around larrivaar saroop of Guru Granth Sahib, they would need to locate where larrivaar saroop is prakash! Maybe it was only Nihang Singhs or few Singhs who performed Anand Karaj in front of Guru Granth Sahib. I guess Nihnag Singhs took Granth Sahib saroop with them wherever they went so they can do prakash anywhere? I also thought it may have been a fire ceremony and have heard some Nihang Singhs practise this, but also below states anand Karaj in front of Guru Granth Sahib. Intrestingly though, they seem to use Anand Sahib and not laavan in this description! ‘Among the religious orders of the Sikhs in the Panjab, the Akalis may be said to preserve whatever remain of the customs of the last Guru. When they marry, they do not like the other Sikhs, call a Brahmin to perform the nuptial ceremony. A Sikh priest is summoned. He reads the Anand, or epithalamium, composed by Guru Amards. A sheet is then thrown over the bride bridegroom, the well-known chadar-dalna marriage ceremony of the Panjab. The holy Granth is used as a witness on the occasion, instead of fire, which is an invariable concomitant of Hindu marriage ceremonies, Karaparshad is then offered to the Granth, and distributed among the guests, after which the ceremony is complete. The Sikh priest, who has favoured me with this information, considers this marriage knot superior to the elaborate one of the Hindus. It is cheap, simple, and equally efficacious.’‘Western Image of the Sikh Religion, A Source Book, edited by Darshan Singh, Pa. 279-280
