Has Sikhi removed the caste system? Not even close. Look at how many Gurdwaras are dedicated for separate castes. The sad thing is that casteist Gurdwaras are more prevalent in the west than in India.

Every civilisation has had a class/caste system. In Europe commoners were banned from wearing certain items of clothing that only the upper class could wear. Even just 50-60 years ago most sons followed the same profession as their fathers. The sad thing is that India is 50 to 100 years behind in thinking to the west in this regard today.

It's all relative. My mum's chacha did a stint in Africa and when he came back to India he was told not to tie the Kenyan style pagh as it denoted someone who had been thrown out. African come home they were called or something along those lines.

It's two completely different situations. The USA is thousands of miles away from Afganistan, it isn't easy for their soldiers to be in such a foreign place or to get supplies. Their citizens don't really care about the war, half the soldiers probably don't either. They didn't get any support from neighbouring countries. Their nearest allies were thousands of miles away as well. They easily defeated the taliban they just didn't want to waste any more resources. Them pulling out of Afghanistan won't have any major effect on America itself. With us it was completely different, the Indian army and Punjab Police was fighting on home soil in a place they knew well with well established local bases and supplies. The local populace of Punjab were not all for Khalistan either. 35% of Punjab was Hindu then and probably only half or less of the Sikhs were supporting the militants.The Indian government had a lot more to lose if Khalistam would be founded. Other states would demand similar things and India would break up. Look at Kashmir, the militancy there has been going on for over 30 years but India would never let it go because it would cause chaos in the rest of the country, not to mention the bezti.

dallysingh is a typical Kenyan Ramgarhia going on about his hatred for Jatts. Being of an Indian Ramgarhia background I've never understood why they have this hatred. They are a stuck up bunch who love to show off and think they are better than Indian Sikhs, but they are all show and no substance. They've made Ramgarhia gurdwaras a laughing stock with their relaxed rules. Now he lives in Britain the country which took in his family when Idi Amin and his like were threatening and kicking out the Indians in Africa, and he calls the English people whiteys, honkies etc. Chill out and have your mogo chips duggu. Have you done your pilgrimage to Makindu yet?

And still the Afghan Sikhs who own shops in England employ Afghan muslim employees.

If they are legal they should have just come to the UK after getting Italian citizenship. Having said that the days of being an unskilled worker and still being able to buy your own house are over now. I have visited Punjab the youth just can't be bothered to study. The ones that do eventually find a good job.

This is why I avoid suls at all costs. They are always capable of this stuff. Sikhs need to fight back like we did in 1947 and show them that we mean business.

If you treat people like dirt then this is what happens. Sikhi was meant to end the caste system or at least make everyone equal. Almost 600 years later it still hasn't done it.

They are different. People from Northern Haryana like Ambala are Punjabis but the majority of the people in Haryana are Haryanvis and their language is a Hindi dialect with some words in common with Punjabi. Haryanvi Jaats are not Punjabi. They do have names in common with Punjabi Sikhs though.

Are we really surprised? This will happen in any muslim majority area. Come on and let's give these people langar like we did in Delhi two years ago.

Rural Sikhs. I have seen it in my own family there. We Sikhs are just obsessed with going abroad. My Grandfather has 11 grandchildren, 8 of them live in the west. The other 3 would love to leave as well. This is having a big impact on Sikh demographics in Punjab. Hindus in Punjab don't migrate anywhere near as much, most of them have businesses and have no reason to leave. And now you have Muslim and Hindu migration from UP and Bihar. We will lose our majority status very soon.

The worst thing is when we build mosques for them. When has a muslim ever built a gurdwara and funded it? Sikhs, in fact no other religion can keep up with muslim birth rates. Sikhs have 2 children on average whereas Muslims have 3. So a Sikh man will have 4 grandchildren whereas a Muslim man will have 9. Do the maths, it doesn't take long at all for demographics to change, especially in a small state like Punjab. Laziness from Punjabis has resulted in hiring people people from UP and Bihar to do labour jobs. Those same Punjabis then go abroad to become labourers. The Hindus are also to blame, their apathy in 1947 allowed millions of Muslims to remain in India and now they are migrating to Punjab where we cleared them out. Where is the Sikh equivalent of Malerkotla in Pakistan? Again we should have cleared that area out in 1947.

Things were bad enough when they claimed Guru Nanak, Buddha and Jesus were avatars of Vishnu, they've taken it to another level now!

Why move to such countries in the first place?

It depends on the religion. The old testament and quran have some barbaric verses that some people still try to justify today.
