  1. If you want to move far from your parents, you could try and get a job away from where you live and move near there.
  2. Yeah but who's sending those kurtay pajamay wallay. Punjab government and Indian government hate us. Punjab has potential, but it's not being used. I have plenty of family in Punjab that are jatts and well educated, they're just not getting the jobs. My cousin and her dalit friend applied for a job and they had to do this test thingy, my cousin got a score wayy higher than her friend but her dalit friend got the job because she was a lower caste. Both my parents who are jatts spent years working hard getting their degrees but they couldn't find a well paying job. Same with some other family. Yeah you have some idiots (like some of my second cousins) that are obsessed with bhangra and that sh1t but that's because they're jobless. For me, recently it's always been that we've lacked in good leadership recently.
  3. I'm not 100% sure about this, but I remember hearing somewhere that there were proposals about industries in Punjab several times, but the Indian government rejected them.
  4. Oh okay. Good luck. Then do you just have your kesh out? I'm not amritdhari yet but I've been wearing a dastaar since around when I was 5. My kesh are long (like up to my knees) so I only properly learnt to do a joorha like last year, my mum used to do it. I wrap my kesh around my hand once to create like a circle thingy and then wrap it like twice or three times underneath it and then pull the remaining kesh through the circle thingy and then the two or three times I've wrapped it underneath kind of goes inside the circle thingy, and then pull the remaining kesh and secure it and then wrap that remaining kesh around it once. That probably didn't make sense but I hope that helped.
  5. How do you tie a dastaar without doing a joorha?
  6. We're in a lose-lose situation all the time. Our people are being killed on both sides. I'm honestly so done with this.
  7. How many gurdwaras are there in the UK? 10 miles is legit nothing. That's like 16km. My closest gurdwara is almost 10 miles away from my house and before lockdown we used to go twice a week. Some of my family and mates live 20 miles from the closest gurdwara, and they go once or twice a week as well.
  8. I'm honestly shocked. There's more people that have come out to these and it's disgusting. Something needs to be done, cause how many more people are gonna suffer cause of him? https://www.instagram.com/p/CUdQSDrv4se/ https://www.instagram.com/p/CUayOAxh4rl/
  9. I don't know if I should be laughing or being concerned. I guess this is what happens to some people when they can't find a real man/woman.
  10. Idk to stop the promotion of caste system, and turn these jatts to singhs or something like that.
  11. Using Singh instead of Jatt will not be a good step. Just look at the lyrics. It's gand.
  12. It is getting annoying now. Gurdwaras are closed. I was looking forward to a ransbahi last weekend but 12 cases of corona ruined it. Annoying that the id1ot Prime Minister we have hasn't ordered enough vaccines cause it's 'not a race' to get everyone vaccinated. It's literally our only hope to get out of this. And then then there's New Zealand going on a 3 day lockdown cause of 1 case....
  13. Yeah Australia cares a lot more about corona than any other country other than New Zealand. It's because we don't have thousands of new cases a day (NSW is approaching that benchmark) so they're trying to controll the few that we have. Us Victorians are into lockdown 6.0

    Friends

Do you go to the gurdwara often? You could find some sangat.
  15. Amrit sanchar doesn't have to happen on vaisakhi. Whenever there's a amrit sanchar at your local gurdwara tell the granthi.
  16. One of the reasons for that is because it's harder for them to get jobs. Several of my cousins tried and went to uni but they couldn't find jobs that paid them a decent amount, so they moved abroad. People from UP and Bihar are getting prefered most of the time.
  17. Bro there's been talks about this, but no one with money right now here is willing to.
  18. New South Wales, not Australia. In other states, you can still wear a kirpan to school, just not nsw where it happen.
  19. The sikh kid stabbed the other kid after multiple incidents of bullying. Then that kid removed the sikh kid's dastar so he got stabbed. The injuries were minor. It would have been better if the kid had not taken the kirpan out and used something else instead.
  20. Printed pags give me bhapa vibes.
  21. Of course they are, cause there hasn't been enough people dead already. Cause electing some random old man for your pind is more important than how many more people will get corona. It's like these people pick and choose with corona restrictions. They put a stop on things they don't want to continue and keep the things they want.
