I can completely understand from your point of view Manny Kaur about being sceptical about your faith when you have had to face so many hardships... in general life and with the recent passing away! Personally, within my family there were 2 reactions... those who kept faith... believing, meditating on "WaheGuru" and try to connect with their faith to find peace and strength! The thing with Sikhi is it gives you strength! Read Bani... understand it... even in English if you have to... sing it! Read our History and discover what bani women of the past used to sing as they saw their children hacked to pieces infront of them and what our Gurus said whilst being tortured! These people dealt with such trauma and came out strong because our Guru gives us a message to give us strength! Get you and your mum to experience this... Alternatively I have family members that have never dealt with the pain, lost faith in God and are generally very angry, bitter or the very least cynical of all things in life! The only advice I would give is try the Sikhi first... try and find that strength that Sikh women in the past endured... for you and your mum! Become strong and confident but more importantly peaceful and content with life (Sikhi helps!!!).... no matter what life throws at you!

Im sure some more knowledgeable Sikhs will respond to this but I find that with grief of lost one I often listern to this shabhad and it uplifts my emotions...

Erm I dont know whether people are aware of this but has anyone asked your local gyanis how much they are paid? If this story gets out I suspect alot of gyanis will sue the Gurdwaray they work at!!

I am not using a pirated copy! Stop being cynical and just PRESUME i am trying to steal! Im looking for a quick fix as microsoft are not helping! I even have the orginal reciept of purchase now which i got from comet today who luckly had record of transaction and they are still refusing to help! My laptop already had office pre installed with the key just required to activate it... the repair company called tech guys did tell me to bsck things up but i didnt expect them to wipe everything off just to repair a screen... Whats the point of registering your details with them if they keep no records of you? My norton anti virus reactivated my subscription with details held which i paid for!!! I dont see why i should have to pay for office again eventhough i have reciept of purchase now! So anyone with any useful suggestions instead snide judgemental comments?

So basically my laptop I bought 3 years went to repair recently. They wiped everything off it! Luckily I was able still get in contact with my Anti-virus company and they uploaded my protection after verifying some details HOWEVER... microsoft have not been as helpful! Please if possible can someone email me a product key for the 2007 edition (Home/Student) as I no longer have it and dont have the receipt either which microsoft requires! But I did buy it nearly 3 years ago!!! I promise to never give it out to anyone else or use it again....but I really need word!! Anyone got a product key they'd be happy to share?

This is wrong! Totally Wrong... BUT on the one hand we have people going around and physically attacking Guru Ji and on the other these Neeldharis who although are in the wrong have still kept Guru Ji in a respected position, pay reverence and place high importance to Guru Granth Sahib ji.... Compare that with some Gurdwaray in UK and around the world for example that have sharab and meet consumption promoted under its property!, have sachkands in low state of repair etc etc... Yes its wrong... BUT... is it "Beadbi"? Id rather entrust Neeldharis and Naamdharis to look after Guru Ji than some "Sikhs" who have allowed real beadbi to occur where we have drunk gyanee's, angs ripped out and burnt, fighting in Guru jis hazoori etc.... Anyone who has been to a Naamdhari Temple will no what I mean... the respect and satkaar they show to Guru Granth Sahib Ji is exceptional!

I was just looking at the recent elections (2009) in India. I understand that Punjab has 13 constituencies, 8 were won by congress, 4 by Akali Dal (Badal) and 1 by BJP... so how is it possible for Akali-BJP coalition to be in power?

Sorry For the text language... im typing on my phone... Recently it has come to everyones attention about the views of upinder the main presenter on Sangat TV, about his low disregard for sant jarnail singh ji and various Gursikh groups. After repeated emails and comments by users on facebook on sangat TV's fanpage they continue to promote this hysterical and misguided presenter. Bare in mind this is the same channel that showed Sant Ji speeches... In addition one has to question the judgement of Sangat TV to use Sonia Deol as a presenter!? ...I usually keep calm about such issues and wait for a Uturn as sometimes mistakes can be made as shown by Sikh Channel! However I am losing patience and considering pulling my direct debit from them. I suspect other Sikhs will follow suit... The question is, is sangat Tv losing its orginal intended auidence in attempt to pull non-sikh viewers? In that case they are no longer a Sikh Channel... and sikhs shouldnt feel obliged to support them!

Why dont you just integrate further and slap some skin lightening cream on your face and change ur name to harold or something! Since when does not being a Gursikh means you have integrated more!? And earn less money!? Ur whole post there is so stupid its difficult to comprehend!

It wont happen... as far as I know its agaisnt EU law! Appeals could go to European Court of Human Rights etc... just too long, impractical process... regardless of our views. It wont happen!

I know of this member.... and just for everyone's info he Sikh! and not at all a Hindustani/Sympathiser... would even say the exact opposite! Although I can understand your view. I have come across elements of HP community that have an extreme dislike for Turbaned Sikhs! As do SOME Gujarati Hindu people and they do create profile on youtube etc.... I wont say ALL but there is some! So its not the religion or the acutal whole community, just some elements!

Personally I see it the other way round now these days! Maybe its just the people I know but in the East Midlands I know of more Muslim girls having relationships with Sikh boys than the other way round! I think what happens is as we get more westernised parents become more liberal allowing girls to go out till late, the punjabi community allowed these freedoms a lot sooner and now the Muslim Pakistani community is doing it! So now Muslim girls are going clubbing getting drunk, being allowed to go to another city for uni so get to live in halls. So these opportunities to get into relationships becomes easier for them! I know of ALOT of muslims girls that come from Bradford/Manchester/B'ham etc that have come uni into East Midlands who are in relationships with Sikh guys as they allow them the freedoms that muslims guys do not! Its funny because Muslim guys wont go out with Muslim girls... as its a "respect" thing! Nevertheless this new found freedom that Muslim girls are getting is giving them a bad rep, some are considered to be loose and "skets" as some have put it! For example I know a group of Muslim girls that went on holiday to cyprus with a hindu friend of mine... in their new found freedom they wore barely nothing and made themselves available to guys... Its inevitable... Muslims girls are doing exactly the same thing some sikh girls used to/still doing... they only just getting the freedom to do it!

I always catch this quick advert on Sangat TV about something happening at a Gurdwara in Coventry, 30th of July 2011 but I always catch it at the end! Whats happening? And just a Benti to the Admin plz...The Calendar option up there^^^^ Could you update with these such events because sometimes I always manage to find out about Rainsbhai's or other Keertan programmes etc after the event has happened! its not easy for me to keep track about Sikhi related events, so it would help if there was just that one reference point... just a suggestion!

Not that I have read the website in-depth! But why are people presuming they are engaged in a lustful life? It could just be a support group to help Sikhs deal with any homosexual feelings they have and to raise awareness about their existence for Sikhs who are struggling with their sexuality. Just because someone is gay does not mean they are automatically engaged in any lustful activities!!!!

In a recent conversations with some of my non-sikh friends it apparent that the views held by Guru_da_Chella etc are quite wide spread amongst Sikhs. Muslims for example will recognise that they are being subjected in Palestine but our own people are soo blind to the suffering of thier own people and brethren... if sikhs in India truly don't support Khalistan they should be ashamed of themselves... How many more of your own sisters do you need to get raped? How many more innocent Sikhs do you need to be falsely killed and imprisoned? How many more crimes do you need exactly? As one of my white mates said, who is quite educated on the whole human rights issue in India... "it seems some Sikhs are happy to be slaves and subjected to being 2nd class citizens!" ...I didn't know what to say.... I personally felt embarrassed! With the thinking... "we don't want another 84... so lets stay quiet" .... I'm glad bhagat singh didnt think that to avoid another jalla wala bhag...
