  1. Surrey Singh JI :umm: A sikh's jeevan should be uchaa and suchaa that is why we should not touch alcohol or tobacco. For those people that are are selling alcohol and tobacco as their livelihood, no offence, but they can decide to have a store that does not sell that stuff. Selling alcohol/tobacco does not suit the roop of a singh or a singhni and this roop is not ours. It's the khalsa roop. It's the roop of dhan dhan pitta guru gobind singh ji. And the respect for this roop must come first! If we dare disgrace guru ji's roop then I am sure we will have to pay for it. Bhul Chuk Maaf!
  2. :D No good! Totally beside the point :umm: but I dont even think he is a great Cricket Player... Anyway, May guru ji bless Sikhs with the knowledge not to follow 'panjabi's' like Harbhajan! Bhul Chul Maaf!
  3. Forgive me if i have missed this point, but the those doing sewa of the panj piyaray must also regularly do an Amrit vela as well as the others points raised above. Bhul Chuk Maaf
  4. A Poem about Vaheguru... I am the child, You are my guiding hand. When I fall, You help me to stand. When I need comfort, You are always there. It is with You, My every thought is shared. When I cry alone at night, You make me laugh. There is no other but You, You are my other half. Without Your Darshan, I am incomplete and unwhole. I make Your Vision my life, My only hope and goal. I am no-one, He has brought me to Himself. He is my main objective, He is my like and dislike. He is the biggest impact on me, I live in Him and He lives in me. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh Poem by Ramita Kaur (age 10) Edited by her teacher.
  5. And here's number 3 Vicky Singh Ji :D belna! The only thing my hands are trained for is shaster! I don't do belna's! Unless my dad is teaching me to make rotia! And I am sure he can teach you also... :umm:
  6. Singhs looks wicked with their dhaaria open. It's the mane of a lion and it makes singhs look fierce! Why mess with it? Man, I wish I was a singh blessed with a lovely long dhaari!
  7. :umm: Man some people need serious lessons in something if not driving!
  8. I love every single aspect of sikhi. And guru sahib has given us a wonderful dress code with a gorgeous crown so we can be proud as sikhs!

  13. No one should throw away blessed food, because you should only take what you can eat. I think you guys are interpreting amritdhaari's and non amrit dhaari's to be a caste thing. It's not. Nor is it a status thing. However the fact remains that an amritdhaari has given his head to guru sahib and is born as the Khalsa, therefore, an amritdhaari that maintains his rehit is 'different' to non amritdhaaris. If amritdhaari's and non amritdhaari's were of equal standing why did guru state we need to become amritdhaari? JSS, no offence, but I do not think you can use practicality/logic to argue against sprituality. If sarboloh was insignificant, then why is it that amrit can only be prepared in sarabloh with a sarabloh khanda? Please do not down play the significance of sarabloh in sikhi. The purpose of bibek isn't just so you can cook healthier food. It's also about 'suchum' as well as my previous spiritual argument. Bhul Chuk Maaf!
  14. None of the above. Everyday, I do japji sahib, jaap sahib, saviyai, chaupai and full anand sahib in morning, reharaas in evening and sohila at night.
  15. Vand kay shakna does not mean that you should have joot. It just means share. If you are referring to food, then you can share before making food joota. Bhul Chuk Maaf!
  16. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! This is complicated to explain but I will have a go..Jooth is forbidden because it is not 'sucha'. This can have a physical effect, if the person is not hygienic etc. However, jooth can also affect your spirituality. What is comes down to is : 'You are what you eat' Langar should be prepared by doing simran, paath by tiyaar bar tiyaar singhs and singhnia so that the sangat that eats this langar will have the effect of the naam and paath and they in turn will do paath and jap naam. If you eat langar prepared be sewadars doing nindia then that is the spritual effect that is going into the food and that is how the sangat will be effected. This is why degh is prepared by doing paath so the effect on the sangat is positive and spritual. Bhai sahib bhai Randhir Singh did say by eating from those people that do not believe in guru sahib (i.e at a resturant) you are putting that kind of manmatt spritual influence on yourself hence why you should avoid eating from the hands of manmukhs and jooth. Bhai sahib bhai Radhir Singh also said an proper bibek is someone that thirsts for naam and a proper sarabloi is someone that gives dasvand from his kirat kamai. Therefore, As Rochak Ji said sarabloh and keeping bibek are different stages in sikhi and you will understand them when you reach that stage. You cannot immitate without knowing the meaning behind why you are doing what you are doing. Bhul Chuk Maaf!
  17. Do something else you enjoy as long as it is not against sikhi rehit. It's hard to suggest what you can do because everyone is different and will respond in a different way. Me, when I am down, I do a combination of things. Take my frustration out at the gym or by doing martial arts. I calm myself down by doing chaupai sahib dey paath or I like playing the vaja or something... And if things are soo bad that I need space then I just fly off somewhere (my favourite secret spot)....that usually clears my head, so I can face my problem/discontent etc.. Once, I know what is wrong I find the best thing of all is talking to someone that understands and can make me laugh :umm: Its weird, but at a time like that the hardest thing to remember is that guru sahib is with you but remembering that will also act as the best type of 'joosh' that you need at a time like that... Bhul Chuk Maaf!
  18. I know violence is not the answer but, I'm all for setting the guy up and ambushing him!
  19. I think one needs to consider Satkaar as well as rehit. Can the person keeping guru maharaj's saroop pay the appropriate respect for Guru Sahib? i.e will they wake up at amrit vela and do maharaj's prakash? Will the do maharaj's sukhasun? Will they change maharaj's ramala? If they can do the above then yes, they should have maharaj's prakash. However, guru sahib should be treated with the utmost of respect therefore, meat, alcohol and tobacco in the same household as Guru ji's prakash should be forbidden. After all, you are not allowed meat, alcohol, or tobacco on a gurdwara. Biadbi of guru sahib is something we will have to pay for dearly. I think the essential thing to remember is that to guru sahib rehit is more important. 'rehit piyari mujh ko' therefore the person keeping guru sahib prakash should keep their rehit and know guru bani so they can give guru sahib the respect deserved! Bhul Chuk Maaf!
  20. It comes down to shardaa..sometimes, I can't express myself in panjabi so I will do the 'private part' of the ardaas in a mixture of panjabi and english... Akaal purkh Maharaj is the supreme creator so I am sure he can understand whatever language we use.. Bhul chuk Maaf!
  21. What if you don't feel good enough to take Amrit..as if you are not good enough to be part of the khalsa?
