It doesn't matter who said it, its common sense, provide historical reference or keep those opinions to yourself, because they are assumptions of certain individuals, either they don't know history or you are distorting the way they said their point of view.

I full agree with Khalsa veerji...

I always thought it of this way that how can guru ji say one thing (abotu in gurbani having two bodies and one soul) and go along marry twice...

Im sorry if i said anything wrong but i agree wit Khalsa veerji. About reference... well we can not prove any side likewise... where is the reference that guru ji had more than one wife instead of people just saying it and making more gurdwaras (which were built much later) ...

... i truly believe guru ji only had one wife. You have to believe this how our indian society works... one may SEE or HEAR one thing and then pass it on to someone ELSE in a whole different sense !! (Clearly known as chugli which our community is best known for where we tend to spread false information about someone to someone else...)

... well i am a moorakh so i dont know anything... veer Khalsa and Sher Punjabi have said it reli well...

guru ji did not just have one wife, he had 2, one (mata Sahib kaur) was the mother in guru jis darbar, who asked for kids, and when she added patahseh to the bata guru ji promised her thousands upon thousands of kids.

ppl who think, (nooo wayyy guru ji supported poloagamy) also gotta think, guru ji was a KING, not just because of his link as a direct soruce of GOD, but he was a King in the literal sense. He formed policies, goverend lands, made aquisitions. in those timea a kings had many wives...so being kings soo did our gurus. now i have read, that all the gurus were only grist with one of the wives. but i have read GUru Gobind Singh Ji had 3 kids with Mata Sundri, and 1 with Mata Jito (vice versa im confused hehe)

ppl think ohmy.gifohmy.gifohmy.gif our guru wouldnt do that, but if u FAITHFULLY believe the gurus had the soul of gurur nanak dev ji, and are 1 with GOd then you KNOW there is no KAAM karodh lobh moh ahankaar so, for the people who say all of us can do it have more then one wife....compare ur self to Gurus (impossible) then try it

and i garentee u those same ppl (UK nangs) who say "ya, mate we can have more then one wife" or watever, ask them if there wife can have more then one husband, and then look at there facial excpresssions......

soo plz dont doubt history cuz u dont approve of it........polyagamy and gurus doesnt match, polagamy = lust and our gurus couldnt have that in them...

Its not a question about polygamy or if "the gurus had more then one wife it is correct of us to have more then one also". I believe even if Guru Ji had more then one wife it wouldnt be out of kaam or desire. But its a matter of corretly interpreting history. There have been misinterpretation by people.

When Guru Ji said that mata ji you would have thousands of thousands of children, Guru Ji was meaning the khalsay, the thousands khalsay who took amrit.

gupt dassan daas,

assuming that Guru Gobind SIngh Ji had more than 1 wife, did all the sahibzadey come from 1 wife, and did guru gobind singh ji re-marry after 1 of the wives died, or was guru gobind Singh Ji married to more than 1 wife at 1 time (not including Mata Sahib Kaur, who was just a "spiritual wife").

also, you keep referencing stuff from historical books, but you dont know for certain if these books are even 100% true, even sooraj prakash says that guru gobind singh ji pierced his ears and that raag mala isnt bani, do you believe that? Both of those things would go against what all the sants of DDT and rara sahib say, and nihangs even say that that is false. So just cuz a historical book says something, doesnt make it true.

and for you refrencing stuff to mahan kosh, look at when that was written, WAYY after the times of guru gobind singh Ji, how did the author know all this stufff? Where did he get his info from?

    • Umm, that's totally irrational, bro. There are plenty of prakash-dara Singhs in Punjab (less than we'd like, but still plenty). No one cares that you are sabat soorat. It isn't 1986. You can walk around in chola, kurta-pajama, or jeans. Whatever. If you want the look @dallysingh101 is referring to, just go into a cheap clothing shop (not a Western-style mall) and buy some shirts for 250 rupees or a track suit for 2000 rupees. You'll get the cheap stuff made in some sweatshop in Bombay.
    • The Mind is Jyot Saroop (Waheguru), but the mind is under the influence of five evils… Through Naam Simran( Rememberance), the mind will begin to detach from evil, and get back to its original form ( MANN TU JYOT SAROOP HEH)… Until the mind breaks free from the five evils, one will go through the cycle of paap and punn….which leads to Karma… Naam Simran destroys past karma, and prevents new karma coming into fruition… I did this, I did that… This non realisation of the Jyot Saroop gives rise to paap and Punn, which in turn gives birth to suffering and misery…
    • I agree we're not born with sin like the Christians think. Also I agree we have effects of karma. But Gurbani does state that the body contains both sin and charity (goodness): ਕਾਇਆ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਪਾਪੁ ਪੁੰਨੁ ਦੁਇ ਭਾਈ ॥ Within the body are the two brothers sin and virtue. p126 Actually, we do need to be saved. Gurbani calls this "udhaar" (uplift). Without Satguru, souls are liable to spiritual death: ਜਿਨਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨ ਭੇਟਿਓ ਸੇ ਭਾਗਹੀਣ ਵਸਿ ਕਾਲ ॥ p40 Those who have not met Satguru Purakh are unfortunate and liable to death. So, yeah, we do need to be saved, and Guru ji does the saving. The reason Satguru is the one to save is because God has given Satguru the "key" (kunji): ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਹਥਿ ਕੁੰਜੀ ਹੋਰਤੁ ਦਰੁ ਖੁਲੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੭॥ In the True Guru's hand is the key. None else can open the door. By perfect good fortune the Guru is met. p124
    • That's unfortunate to hear. Could you give any more information? Who was this "baba"? He just disappeared with people's money? Obviously, you should donate your money to known institutions or poor people that you can verify the need of through friends and family in Punjab.
    • Sangat ji,  I know a family who went Sevewal to do seva sometimes end of 2019. They returned last year in great dismay and heart broken.  To repent for their mistakes they approached panj pyaare. The Panj gave them their punishment / order to how t make it up which, with Kirpa, they fulfilled.  They were listening to a fake Baba who, in the end, took all the "Donations " and fled sometime over a year ago. For nearly 4 years this family (who are great Gursikhs once u get to know them) wasted time and effort for this fake Baba. NOT ONLY this one fam. But many, many did worldwide and they took their fam to do seva, in village Sevewal, city Jaitho in Punjab. In the end many families lost money in thousands being behind this Baba. The family, on return, had to get in touch with all the participants and told them to stop.  I am stating this here to create awareness and we need to learn from whom we follow and believe. It's no easy but if we follow the 3 S (Sangat, Simran and Seva) we will be shown the light. As I am writing this the family in question have been doing the same since 2008 onwards and they fell for this Baba... it is unbelievable and shocking.  This am writing in a nutshell as am at work on my break so not lengthy but it deserves a great length.  Especially the family in question, who shed light on youngsters about Sikhi 20 plus years!!
