People here are confusing between the old testament and New testament and as well between Christianity & Islam.

And Khalsa Fauj from where have you sourced this information that music is banned in Christianity ?? Have you never heard a Church choir before and you have also credited Jesus with a lot more powers like he forgived sins in a second etc ??

I Sikhi we have the eternal shabad Guru uttered by our Gurus which is and always will be with us. How do stories in the bible about jesus's life forgive your sins now? And what does your faith say about staying away from sins in the first place?

christians (catholics) have just changed there views on death to what we think which is HELL (narak) is not an eternal state but rather temporary.....and it works the same way as us

and their theology says that jesus (who is supposedly 1 part of 3 of god) sacrifised himself for the sins of all man not just christians cuz at that time there were no christians! and the Vatican II act that was passed in the 70's sums that all ppl are the children of god.....

sikhi is still the best but fact is fact......those ppl have alot of prem ras thats commendable

shaheed i understand what you are saying but the acts passed in the 1970s was passed by the Vatican succumbing to world views of the time; Dhur KI Baani said it from the beginning. Christianity evolves with the times while Sikhi is pure from the beginning.

Just changed it...If jesus was the son of God couldn't he tell his people this in the first place?

biggest difference between Christianity and Sikhi is that christianity's goal is to make it to heaven and on judgement day be saved by jesus christ( So basically Jesus has done everything for you so just chill lay back and relax).

mann kaum je as per my understanding the sacrifice of Jesus saved people (viz the Romans & Jews etc) from the wrath of God as on the day he was crucified. And those who remembered his sacrifice were blessed by it, nowhere is it written that you could thus chill and lay on your back and relax for eternity due to that.

Sikhs have eternal shabad of your Gurus and Christians have plenty to choose from, for eg heard of the Ten Commandments of Moses ??

Secondly if you specifically refer to Christianity, it believes that man is a sinner, knowingly or unknowingly so as important as it is to consciously prevent ourselves from sinning it is more important to repent.

Repentance has a very important place in christianity and that is exactly the reason why you find so many people in the west behaving like perpetual apologists. Hope you get the drift.

What I find most troubling about Christianity is its insecurity. The fact that you must be Christian or you will go to hell. This is nothing short of hatred, and Christians will tell you they think this way because they love you and want to bring you to Jesus.

I have a few Christian friends who are close enough that we have discussed this and they can state the parts of the above, ie. they do believe non-Christians go to hell, they do love all, etc….but are very uncomfortable reconciling these parts part of the their belief when pressed. They revisit the brainwashed on a regular enough basis with their company to maintain their insanity.

It is baffling that they they think people are sinners who will go to hell at the same time suggest that Jesus said they should love all people ( while they are thinking …in order to bring them closer to their faith). Teaching people that this hypocritical hatred is love makes for sinners.

When I talk to Christians in the west, there is still much judgment at the core of the beliefs. It seems the soft sell reserved approach is a relatively recent marketing adaptation as the world started becoming smaller with people from many faiths co-existing.

buddasingh, there are many types and denominations in christianity. The more right wing of those believe that only if you are christian by faith can you get closer to God and attain heaven etc etc. Those types belong to the George Bush's southern baptist school of thought, the evangelists and the like.

But there are also those with much more liberal interpretations of the bible and they have only come about only after Christian populations have mingled with other religions etc. According to bible and also IMO a good samaritan who helps other people irrespective of race, religion, creed, class etc is also a also a good christian, albeit unknowingly.

Christianity like other religions has a role in only helping keep the good samaritan good forever.

Bible was written 50 yrs after Jesus. It is not the work of him. Also it is written by his followers. It is mostly stories. Then how is it word of God? Also there is a new edition every year. They change the bible according to time. Bible said that earth is flat and that we are the only planet with life and are centre of universe and we are the only planet with a moon. Christians have done more damage than good under the name of Jesus. E.g. Converting people to Christianity by force. Killing non-Christians. Being racist (still happens), making slaves because they thought they were the superior of all. Jesus didn't sacrifice. He was sacrificed. He didn't want to die. He was forced. He was beging God to save him but God didn't. He said I will forgive your sins if you come to me. Christians worship Jesus. We worship Akaal (Deathless), Ajoon (Unborn). Jesus is dead. He is gone. He can;t be the saviour. Only God is the saviour. God never dies. God is also not he. God has no gender. God has no fear. God has no pain. God has no suffering. Only Shabad of God can save you. Bible is not authentic. Jesus's followers wouldn't have refused to accept him if he had some powers or links with God. Changing the Bible doesn't change history. Bible has flaws and had more flaws. It is not word of God. Take this out of your mind. When we talk about Ktaib, it includes the Bible.
