Confused And Lost...pls Help

Hi everyone, this is my first time here and i hope to get my anwser...i am a 17 year old girl in Vancouver B.C , typical teenager engrossed into society and what it wants of us, but I havent cut my hair...even though I do everything else I know is against our religion, but sometimes it seems i cannot understand my freinds because i am not like them, when i listen to naam simran at night to go to sleep i start crying..it seems like my soul is crying out for help...same at the gurdawaras and I dont have the heart to cut my hair...I just wanted to know that is this all a sign for me, that i dont belong in the same world as my family and friends are living in? I feel like I am missing something and when i think of it sometimes i feel so depressed.........

Hi Kiran,

if you get the chance goto Dasmesh Darbar on Sundays around 8pm and stuff.

Believe me don't feel depressed, that is the worst thing to do. Think of it, were so lucky, we have everything in this world, we should be fortuante that Guru Ji has given us so much. If you do feel depressed , the best way to aleivate is I have found look in the mirror and say 4 good things about you everyday.

Believe me, it will help..

They are involved in doing things which will not help them in the end whereas Waheguru's name will help you in the end..It will be your support in this world and in the next world. Take steps towards Guru Jee, they will take thousands towards you and help you in your daily life. Change your sangat.. Make friends with young Gursikhs in your area, do Simran with them.

Just try for a few days to stop hanging out with your friends and doing the things that they do and focus on Naam Simran, going to the Gurdwara - listening to keertan with sikhitothemax - understand what Guru Jee is saying in the shabad, doing Sewa… Bhenji you will feel different, you will feel special. You will realise with Guru Jee's kirpa - the true path.

I just wanted to point something out.

The emotions we experience while listening to any form of music, even Naam Simran, are influenced by the musical instruments used and of course the tone of the music itself. Sounds can be used in this way to bring out certain emotions. What happens in the end I think is a state of self-indulgence. People cry or get very emotional, especially when they feel confused with reality....

Just my 2 cents.

Kiran it seems you have discovered an alternate path. I commend you!
