Patiala Shahi is a very good looking dastaar. I was in India last March and a relative was showing me how to tie in Shahi style. You have to get the pooni (fold) right and then make sure the larr is clean, each time you bring to the front you sort of pinch fold it near the centre to get the noyk right.

The UK college style dastaar is based on the Patiala Shahi. It looks as if the dastaar is ironed to get the bal out. and to flatten the larr.
