From the tenth Guru of Sikhs it was asked: What is the way to find God? He said “Learn to love. This is the only true religion: to love God and after having been filled with the love of God, then to love thy enemies and thy neighbors.” This is the basic religion, which I am preaching.

It's great to see an outsider reinforcing sri dasam patsah bachan to sikhs of today who have forgotten the defination of love because they spent all day long spreading their hatred towards people they don't know.

Defination of Sri Guru Gobind Singh - Embodiment of Divine Love.

Defination of people today claim to Sri Guru Gobind Singh Sikh = Embodiment of jealously, hatred, insecure, false pride, back bitting.

haha give what up bro? Simple facts cannot be ignored. You mean to tell me that if someone wears a Kurta Pajama and a Pug, hes an automatic Sikh? Even Muslims wear Kurta Pajamas.

What you mean you never saw Hindus/Punjabis dress such way...where in punjab have you lived or visited? lol...bro he is wearing a Kurta Pajama which almost every Punjabi owns and a Pug which is a distinct Punjabi Jatt Attire. Besides i thought it was Amrit that made you Sikh, not just your attire.

If you read the .pdf link i posted or the cut and paste from that link, he even said he does not belive in religion.

I think the quote below clarifies his stand on being known as a Sikh. Although the question seems to be from someone who doesn't know much about Sikhi and Hinduism, but the answer is what defines Thanka Singhs stand on his religion.

Question: You were born a Sikh, a member of the Hindu faith. Do you still practice your Hindu faith?

Thakar Singh: No. It is not that one should practice Hinduism, or Sikhism, or Mohammedanism, or Christianity. These are only the outer customs or rituals, which have been adopted according to the age and necessity of the time from the originators of these religions. Real religion is one. That is given in the holy Bible: “What great commandment have you got from God?” The Master told, “Love thy Father God with all thy soul, with all thy heart, with all thy mind. And love thy neighbor as thyself. And love thine enemies.” This is the real religion I could find in Hinduism, Sikhism, Christianity, and in all faiths. If the people have forgotten it, I am trying to reconnect them all with this one religion. “On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.”

Question: It is interesting that you quote quite a lot from Jesus and the Bible in your

talks.

Thakar Singh: It is because the people over here understand the Bible. In India I also speak form the Bible, but only sometimes. Otherwise I speak from the Vedas and Adi Granth, from the Mahabharata, the Ramayana, and the Bhagvad Gita, which the people there understand.

Namstang,

In your last sentence above please advise whether or not you are you referring specifically to posts that precede yours in this thread, or if any of those posts shape this opinion of yours.

By the way my opinion, for a guy who lays any claim to spiritual wisdom, what a laughable moronic farce.

    • The Mind is Jyot Saroop (Waheguru), but the mind is under the influence of five evils… Through Naam Simran( Rememberance), the mind will begin to detach from evil, and get back to its original form ( MANN TU JYOT SAROOP HEH)… Until the mind breaks free from the five evils, one will go through the cycle of paap and punn….which leads to Karma… Naam Simran destroys past karma, and prevents new karma coming into fruition… I did this, I did that… This non realisation of the Jyot Saroop gives rise to paap and Punn, which in turn gives birth to suffering and misery…
    • I agree we're not born with sin like the Christians think. Also I agree we have effects of karma. But Gurbani does state that the body contains both sin and charity (goodness): ਕਾਇਆ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਪਾਪੁ ਪੁੰਨੁ ਦੁਇ ਭਾਈ ॥ Within the body are the two brothers sin and virtue. p126 Actually, we do need to be saved. Gurbani calls this "udhaar" (uplift). Without Satguru, souls are liable to spiritual death: ਜਿਨਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨ ਭੇਟਿਓ ਸੇ ਭਾਗਹੀਣ ਵਸਿ ਕਾਲ ॥ p40 Those who have not met Satguru Purakh are unfortunate and liable to death. So, yeah, we do need to be saved, and Guru ji does the saving. The reason Satguru is the one to save is because God has given Satguru the "key" (kunji): ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਹਥਿ ਕੁੰਜੀ ਹੋਰਤੁ ਦਰੁ ਖੁਲੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੭॥ In the True Guru's hand is the key. None else can open the door. By perfect good fortune the Guru is met. p124
    • That's unfortunate to hear. Could you give any more information? Who was this "baba"? He just disappeared with people's money? Obviously, you should donate your money to known institutions or poor people that you can verify the need of through friends and family in Punjab.
    • Sangat ji,  I know a family who went Sevewal to do seva sometimes end of 2019. They returned last year in great dismay and heart broken.  To repent for their mistakes they approached panj pyaare. The Panj gave them their punishment / order to how t make it up which, with Kirpa, they fulfilled.  They were listening to a fake Baba who, in the end, took all the "Donations " and fled sometime over a year ago. For nearly 4 years this family (who are great Gursikhs once u get to know them) wasted time and effort for this fake Baba. NOT ONLY this one fam. But many, many did worldwide and they took their fam to do seva, in village Sevewal, city Jaitho in Punjab. In the end many families lost money in thousands being behind this Baba. The family, on return, had to get in touch with all the participants and told them to stop.  I am stating this here to create awareness and we need to learn from whom we follow and believe. It's no easy but if we follow the 3 S (Sangat, Simran and Seva) we will be shown the light. As I am writing this the family in question have been doing the same since 2008 onwards and they fell for this Baba... it is unbelievable and shocking.  This am writing in a nutshell as am at work on my break so not lengthy but it deserves a great length.  Especially the family in question, who shed light on youngsters about Sikhi 20 plus years!!
