हरि नामु लेहु मीता लेहु आगै बिखम पंथु भैआन ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥

har naam layho meetaa layho aagai bikham panth bhai-aan. ||1|| rahaa-o.

Chant the Lord's Name; O my friend, chant it. Hereafter, the path is terrifying and treacherous. ||1||Pause||

ਸੇਵਤ ਸੇਵਤ ਸਦਾ ਸੇਵਿ ਤੇਰੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਬਸਤੁ ਹੈ ਕਾਲੁ ॥

सेवत सेवत सदा सेवि तेरै संगि बसतु है कालु ॥

sayvat sayvat sadaa sayv tayrai sang basat hai kaal.

Serve, serve, forever serve the Lord. Death hangs over your head.

ਕਰਿ ਸੇਵਾ ਤੂੰ ਸਾਧ ਕੀ ਹੋ ਕਾਟੀਐ ਜਮ ਜਾਲੁ ॥੧॥

करि सेवा तूं साध की हो काटीऐ जम जालु ॥१॥

kar sayvaa tooN saaDh kee ho kaatee-ai jam jaal. ||1||

Do seva, selfless service, for the Holy Saints, and the noose of Death shall be cut away. ||1||

ਹੋਮ ਜਗ ਤੀਰਥ ਕੀਏ ਬਿਚਿ ਹਉਮੈ ਬਧੇ ਬਿਕਾਰ ॥

होम जग तीरथ कीए बिचि हउमै बधे बिकार ॥

hom jag tirath kee-ay bich ha-umai baDhay bikaar.

You may make burnt offerings, sacrificial feasts and pilgrimages to sacred shrines in egotism, but your corruption only increases.

ਨਰਕੁ ਸੁਰਗੁ ਦੁਇ ਭੁੰਚਨਾ ਹੋਇ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਅਵਤਾਰ ॥੨॥

नरकु सुरगु दुइ भुंचना होइ बहुरि बहुरि अवतार ॥२॥

narak surag du-ay bhunchanaa ho-ay bahur bahur avtaar. ||2||

You are subject to both heaven and hell, and you are reincarnated over and over again. ||2||

ਸਿਵ ਪੁਰੀ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਇੰਦ੍ਰ ਪੁਰੀ ਨਿਹਚਲੁ ਕੋ ਥਾਉ ਨਾਹਿ ॥

सिव पुरी ब्रहम इंद्र पुरी निहचलु को थाउ नाहि ॥

siv puree barahm indar puree nihchal ko thaa-o naahi.

The realm of Shiva, the realms of Brahma and Indra as well - no place anywhere is permanent.

ਬਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਸੇਵਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਨਹੀ ਹੋ ਸਾਕਤ ਆਵਹਿ ਜਾਹਿ ॥੩॥

बिनु हरि सेवा सुखु नही हो साकत आवहि जाहि ॥३॥

bin har sayvaa sukh nahee ho saakat aavahi jaahi. ||3||

Without serving the Lord, there is no peace at all. The faithless cynic comes and goes in reincarnation. ||3||

ਜੈਸੋ ਗੁਰਿ ਉਪਦੇਸਿਆ ਮੈ ਤੈਸੋ ਕਹਿਆ ਪੁਕਾਰਿ ॥

जैसो गुरि उपदेसिआ मै तैसो कहिआ पुकारि ॥

jaiso gur updaysi-aa mai taiso kahi-aa pukaar.

As the Guru has taught me, so have I spoken.

ਨਾਨਕੁ ਕਹੈ ਸੁਨਿ ਰੇ ਮਨਾ ਕਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਹੋਇ ਉਧਾਰੁ ॥੪॥੧॥੧੫੮॥

In english they are refered to as gods, but rather they are more on par with angels, if you like. Never the less they all have a finite life and succomb to kaal.

These devtas are meant to be immortal according to you but Guruji said they were not therefore they were mere men!
