Yawwwn... i've seen it before. It's been well know that those papers sound off alot on minority groups, what's new?

Alot of bad opinions have swirled around sikhs due in part to our own barriers that we set up - we don;t get involved on a large scale with other communities, we set up schools that isolate our youth from mainstream, and we don't tell spend much resources educating the public on sikhi. It can be done... but wait, we all have decided that it's not sikhi to tell others, yeah right....

Anyways, i really am disapointed with some of the editors... i feel they are just out to point out all the bad stuff. There is good stuff going on in the indo-canadian community, why don't they just do a little digging?

BTW, i feel the link and article was also narrow minded, especially the list of events kim covered... why inst there any mentions of the other articles she has written? Seems a little ironic to point out "singleing out" when the article does the same injustice.

Bindy,

Vaheguru ji ka khalsa,

Vaheguru ji ki fatheh!

The list was of events Bolan did NOT cover and the point was that despite the Sikh community having gone through so many positive events, and many events that showed them as innocent civilians, or good people all-round, she would rather only report on the negative.

Bolan purposefully ignores all news stories that will be positive publicity for the Sikh community.

The other articles she has written don't need to be mentioned because they are legendary amongst the Sikh community. It is not something new - so why list the whole list of her articles. Do you have to list the whole chronology of the crimes of the Nazi's for somebody to know they are evil? The list might be useful for reference, but everybody knows how evil Nazi's are because they have become internationally synonymous with racism, oppression and hatred, and in the same way everybody knows Kim Bolan. She has a 21 year history of writing in the Vancouver sun against the Sikh community. Which group of articles, out of the hundreds, should be used as an example?

Vaheguru ji ka khalsa,

Vaheguru ji ki fatheh!

Sat Sri Akal:

It's simple: She caught onto the story of the airplane tragedy. She wrote a story. It captivated an audience. She realized this and knew she could make a career out of it. So she did.

it's sad to see ppl take advantage of us for their own cause... and on top of it don't even pay much attention to the good side of the ind-canadian community.
