Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji Maharaj compiled the Aad Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji and proclaimed the importance of the Granth to the Sikhs as “This Holy Scripture is the home of the transcedant Lord God” (Ang 1226).

Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji Maharaj stood against tyranny and with the strength of GurBani sacrificed his life for truth, justice and human rights. This was the beginning of a great history of martyrdom in the Sikh faith.
