Breaking The Silence!

Recommended Posts

Fateh Ji,

Who's raising awareness of the CULT-DEHDHARI GURU Groups who are also a threat to our Kaum, maybe even bigger than the Islamics?

Why is no body combating the parchaar of RADHSOAMIS, DARSHAN DASIS, NAAMDHARIS, NARINDER GREWAL etc that are causing more damage to our Kaum than the Muslims? How many relatives do you know you are following some kind of Guru/Baba with an anti Gurmat stance compare to families who have been targetted my muslims?

I am not bashing the good work that this awareness group are doing, but what always concerns me is how easy we identify the muslim as the enemy to our Kaum and turn a blind eye to the sly enemy who seems to have comfortably established themselves in our community.

Very true, there isnt just one "baddie". Some enemies of the panth are internal and do more damage! What about those youth who have cut their hair after meeting Narinder Grewal. We all know Lakhan was a very inspirational character who did lots of seva. I dont think Islamic fundementalists had a chance to convert him, however the sly "Sikh Looking" Grewel changed his thinking totally! Grewal looks Sikhs but continues to damage Sikhi with his actions. We need to create awareness against Cults like this. Members of these cults actually Sit in Gurdwara Sangat.

The Awareness has to branch out from just one group.

Check out the profiles of Sikhs gals on shaadi.com and hi5.com and you can see the reason why they are so messed in the head.

2 words some up how they get corrupt and targetted by islamic nuts:

LIBERAL VALUES!

Parents try to do their best for their kids in western society trying to be modern and liberal giving their girls equality and yet some punjabi sikh girls throw it all back in their face by their disgracful lack of respect and then to top it off go off with a muslim guy who wants to undermine your faith and wish to create all the world's people to follow a barbaric faith which undermines womens rights and treats them no better than cattle and baby making machines.

The girls that need to be targetted for this awareness campaign do not attend gurdwara's because they dont see themselves as religious but will call themself Sikh to have some kind of identity. The awareness campaign needs to be started in colleges and uni's drawing in girls of Sikh background who have been raised in liberal environmemt to learn about their faith, history and tactics of islamics.

tru say about da h5 geeza recently ma mate told a 'sikh' girl2 take pix of drugs of her hi 5 as she had bigged up khalistan and had bhindrawale pix on her profile -dis along wid her doing drugs 1 thing led 2 da next and then she came with a muslim boy 2 ma mates house .........................and subsequently there was an argument this is the state of sikh girls these days makes me sick they betray thier own hope they all jus vanish and get out of our community we dont need dirt

Fateh Ji,

I hope that this awareness group do branch out and do parchar of other issues effecting Sikhi in the UK today such as alcoholism, drug dealing, club scene, sleeping around culture along with the cult dehdhari groups which are all responsible for "undermining" Sikh principles. In my eyes Islamic groups play a small part in our current situation.

Sometimes it feels like we are a one-issue party only and want to blame all our problems on the Islamics. The danger here is that we create a comfort zone where we think that is what the situation is!

The enemy lies within!

I attended the Luton programme. You are doing a good seva but I didnt like it when the black magic thing was promoted, it was like scare mongering. You should always tell the sangat that to have full confidence in Gurbani. Alot of time was spent on this subject by the the Singh in the Black Kenyan Dastar. Also the Sikhi element doesnt seem to be there in the talks, whats Sikh Awareness without Sikhi?

I dont remember promotion of black magic, however i remember the awareness being raised. because theres no hiding the fact that black magic does exist but Sikhs are banned from indulging in such activities and are given Naam as protection from it. Also at the end of and during each programme there are chances for people to speak up. i suggest you speak up at the time, not afterwards on a forum :@

I am sure the organisers will take your view into consideration for next time though.

    • Net pay after taxes. If you don't agree, think about this: If you were a trader and started off in China with silk that cost 100 rupees and came to India, and you had to pay total 800 rupees taxes at every small kingdom along the way, and then sold your goods for 1000 rupees, you'd have 100 rupees left, right? If your daswandh is on the gross, that's 100 rupees, meaning you have nothing left. Obviously, you owe only 10% of 100, not 10% of 1000. No, it's 10% before bills and other expenses. These expenses are not your expenses to earn money. They are consumption. If you are a business owner, you take out all expenses, including rent, shop electricity, cost of goods sold, advertising, and government taxes. Whatever is left is your profit and you owe 10% of that.  If you are an employee, you are also entitled to deduct the cost of earning money. That would be government taxes. Everything else is consumption.
    • No, bro, it's simply not true that no one talks about Simran. Where did you hear that? Swingdon? The entire Sikh world talks about doing Simran, whether it's Maskeen ji, Giani Pinderpal Singh, Giani Kulwant Singh Jawaddi, or Sants. So what are you talking about? Agreed. Agreed. Well, if every bani were exactly the same, then why would Guru ji even write anything after writing Japji Sahib? We should all enjoy all the banis. No, Gurbani tells you to do Simran, but it's not just "the manual". Gurbani itself also has cleansing powers. I'm not saying not to do Simran. Do it. But Gurbani is not merely "the manual". Reading and singing Gurbani is spiritually helpful: ਪ੍ਰਭ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਬਦੁ ਸੁਭਾਖਿਆ ॥  ਗਾਵਹੁ ਸੁਣਹੁ ਪੜਹੁ ਨਿਤ ਭਾਈ ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੈ ਤੂ ਰਾਖਿਆ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ The Lord's Bani and the words are the best utterances. Ever sing hear and recite them, O brother and the Perfect Guru shall save thee. Pause. p611 Here Guru ji shows the importance of both Bani and Naam: ਆਇਓ ਸੁਨਨ ਪੜਨ ਕਉ ਬਾਣੀ ॥ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਿਸਾਰਿ ਲਗਹਿ ਅਨ ਲਾਲਚਿ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਜਨਮੁ ਪਰਾਣੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ The mortal has come to hear and utter Bani. Forgetting the Name thou attached thyself to other desires. Vain is thy life, O mortal. Pause. p1219 Are there any house manuals that say to read and sing the house manual?
    • All of these are suppositions, bro. Linguists know that, generally, all the social classes of a physical area speak the same language, though some classes may use more advanced vocabulary. I'm talking about the syntax. That is, unless the King is an invader, which Porus was not. When you say Punjabi wasn't very evolved, what do you mean? The syntax must have been roughly the same. As for vocabulary, do you really think Punjabis at the time did nothing more than grunt to express their thoughts? That they had no shades of meaning? Such as hot/cold, red/yellow/blue, angry/sweet/loving/sad, etc? Why must we always have an inferiority complex?
    • I still think about that incident now and then, just haven't heard any developments regarding what happened, just like so many other things that have happened in Panjab!
    • There was a young Singh from abroad who went to Anandpur Sahib Hola and got into a fight with some Punjabis who were playing loud non-religious music. He had bana and a weapon or two. There were more of them than him.  He ended up losing his life. Don't be like that. Not worth it to fight manmukhs. @californiasardar1 ਮੂਰਖੈ ਨਾਲਿ ਨ ਲੁਝੀਐ ॥੧੯॥ Argue not with a fool. p473
