Swami Ramdev comes under scanner

Swami Ramdev, who earned popularity in the country and abroad by curing diseases through ‘pranayam’, is now coming under scanner for the alleged use of powder made of human skulls and animal parts in the ayurvedic medicines.

The trouble for Swami Ramdev, who is a regular feature in several TV channels, began after hundreds of volunteers in the Divya Yoga Pharmacy in Hardwar went on indefinite strike last week demanding pay hike.

Stung by the strike, Swami Ramdev abruptly dismissed nearly 125 volunteers. Vijay Singh Chauhan, the union leader, also received serious injuries after he was beaten up by goons, police said. Soon CITU, a trade union organization roped in CPI-M leader Brinda Karat to open a new front against Ramdev.

Karat sought a high-level probe into the allegations made by the striking volunteers that Swami Ramdev was using powder of human skulls and animal organs to provide medicines to patients. She also demanded that the pharmacy be brought under the Factory Act since it was producing medicines in bulk.

Supporting the strike, local CITU leaders said they would move court to seek relief for the striking volunteers, who are mostly working on daily-wage system in the ashram, getting only Rs 1200 per month in lieu of 12 hours of work everyday.

When contacted, District Magistrate, Hardwar, R K Sudhanshu said he is gathering information from other sources to come to a conclusion regarding the matter.

I wouldnt be suprized because some Hindus smear the ash of other dead hindus after a bath

I don't know him (obviously can't now he's dead) but i don't listen to rumours. i'd say he was a good Gursikh until i have proof of any wrong doing by him!
